Joe and Peter were absolutely amazing! They worked efficiently, handled everything with great care, and made the entire moving process stress-free. Our experience with Cal’s moving was mixed. Lane provided our estimate and he was courteous. The movers were friendly and 3 of the 4 showed up on time. Nothing fragile was broken.

Cal’s was the most expensive quote we received, but we went with them because they seemed organized and transparent. We wanted to pay for what seemed like a “premium” service. We don’t think it ended up being that way, though, and Cal’s caused us a lot of unneeded stress during an already stressful time.

Reasons why we probably won’t use Cal’s again:
-The movers did not lay down protective runners until we asked them to. their carts damaged our hardwood stair nose.
-The 4th mover didn’t show up for about an hour and they delayed starting to move for 15min or so while waiting for him.
-They brought two trucks and blocked our community road when one truck was sufficient.
-there were points that 1-2 movers were standing around not doing anything and chatting in the truck.
-Even though our mattress and couch were wrapped, somehow they got VERY dirty. So much so we need to get our couch professionally cleaned. We still paid for the mattress cover (which was just taped plastic) and for wrapping the couch. Our couch cushions were put in one of their boxes which was dirty with what seemed like a kids art project. They had glitter and stickers stuck to them.
-when it came time to pay, the lead said he was having trouble with their app and overcharged us by at least $425. We ended up getting some refunded, but it was a shock that we were asked to pay that much right when they finished.
-The movers took a longer lunch break than they said they did (this matters for payment purposes).
-When I called to get a refund, the person that helped me said their GPS showed when they started and stopped the move, however they didn’t start right when they showed up (because they were waiting for the 4th mover). I felt I was being told I was in the wrong because of GPS.
