The most unprofessional moving company! Do not use them! I paid for a ferry and tractor trailer. They showed up with a ferry truck and no tractor trailer. They did not come to work! They showed up at 12-2 pm. What should have been one day was 3! They lost all the plugs and cables! The fire sticks are gone. All my furniture was not covered. They destroyed most of my decorator furniture. They split it to two loads instead of what I contracted for. The second load was crushed and damaged. They tried to charge me for the second load. I paid for professional packing and they literally threw things in boxes with no padding. They were unprofessional, disorganized, and rude! Do not use them!
Each person I talked to on the phone to get a quote was extremely rude, pushy, and not knowledgeable about costs. Moreover, the company sent several notifications to my phone each day about booking my move before giving me a quote. Do not recommend for the admin side alone.
Like some of the other reviews, the items were picked up with no problem. It was a completely different story when my items were delivered. My six bookcases were delivered in pieces. Literal pieces. Tables had broken legs. Two beautiful antique pieces were broken in half. I had 15 items destroyed during this process, some which cannot be replaced. Trying to place a claim was time-consuming and lengthy. I finally got a check for a few items but no where near what they were worth. They only paid based on weight. They gave me $30 on a $500 table. I can't get an answer on why the rest of the items weren't addressed. I would NOT use this company. I am out hundreds of dollars and some antiques that I loved and cannot be replaced. I don't understand a moving company taking such poor care of someone's things. Buyer beware.
This moving company removed my items from my house with no problem. When they placed it in storage they decided to take my weight bench, desk, and other items apart. They miss placed a lot of the hardware. This company failed to pay me for all stuff that was broke. I had a weight bench that is not fully functional, weights that are missing because they took the weights out of the crate that I placed them in. They kept my brand new container which cost me almost $50. My other work out piece of equipment is broke which they did not pay me anything. When furniture was delivered I saw my wooden desk laying on its side in the street and it was all scratched up, not the way that it was taken house. The settlement check did not cover what was destroyed by this company and person that they sent to my house to take pictures was horrible. I paid thousands on this move only to have my stuff destroyed due to a lack of respect for my items. Research your moving companies before you choose this company! Don’t do it! The fact that I am a Veteran and have had my stuff moved quite a few times with nothing taken apart and the parts end up missing shows that a little attention to detail goes a long way. Heavy boxes on top of my fragile crystal and glassware. Just terrible!
Saying that hiring this company to manage my long distance move was one of the worst decisions of my life would be an understatement.
When they came to view my items to estimate a cost to move, she was fantastic. Even the ladies writing quotes were great.
We hit a stumbling block at the movers. These guys took apart everything that would come apart (and some that didn’t, but they made them anyways). They were late every day and left early every day. The final day of packing the guy came in the living room where pictures were hung on the walls, rugs were on the floors, furniture was sitting there and asked if that was everything. I just looked around and asked him to tell me.
He tried to get me to leave stuff behind. He did leave stuff behind. The back of my vehicle was full of stuff that they left behind. Also left behind was snack papers, drink cans, and bottles from their packers. Also left behind was their work items like straps.
My furniture moved 500 miles away and my husband took delivery. He said things were piled on top of everything. A push mover was sitting on top of our leather furniture. Several things were dented and ripped. However, I never said anything. It really wasn’t that big of a deal, things happen.
As he started going through our belongings he found several big items that were damaged during the move. We decided too much stuff was ending up damaged and to make a claim. We bought the insurance. We’d be ok, right? No.
Our washing machine was completely destroyed during the move. Even though they paid a third party to come in and prepare it for shipment. Once he hooked it up in the basement it would dump water into the floor because hoses up underneath and up inside the washer were busted. We replaced the washer one day after delivery. We didn’t keep the old washer. Our claim for the washer was denied. We didn’t keep it. That’s on us. Our fault. We learned our lesson.
We did claim some items and turned in pictures of damage to said items, and was paid. Not all of it full asking replacement value.
However, anything that was missing was not paid. They looked in their warehouse and didn’t find it. Done deal. We didn’t indicate missing items when the movers were leaving. Please show me the person who can look at over 100 moving boxes and know what’s missing before the driver leaves.
What’s real life is the driver is grabbing you and telling you to sign these papers while the other movers are putting boxes in your garage. As soon as that last box hits the ground, he’s shutting the doors, getting in the truck, and getting the heck out of dodge. All the while yelling you have X many months to file claims while getting in and shutting the door. Bye!!
Our contract said we had 9 months to submit damage and/or missing items. We fulfilled our part. I asked for replacement value for 3 missing pieces of wall art. Denied. No discussion, no anything. “You can’t prove it wasn’t delivered” and you can’t prove that it was ma’am.
I was completely honest in my claims. There are probably twice as many things that are bumped, scratched, ripped that I labeled not worth the hassle, that I could live with it. The few things we did claim I got maybe 1/5 of what we asked for.
Please don’t use these folks. And if you do, pay attention to all the warnings and bad reviews. Make them stay until you unpack all your boxes. That seems to be the only way they’ll pay for your damage.
Sadly, this will be just one more bad review of many. Thanks for reading this.
