I just spent the night sleeping on my floor and will now have to sleep on the floor indefinitely because these movers completely ruined our king mattress. It looks like an elephant stomped all over four huge depressions and a cross where the frame is - making it impossible to sleep in any direction of the bed. Trying to sleep in one of the four huge depressions they left was so painful I was crying at 1 am until I gave up and moved to the floor. I'm devastated! We just moved and I can't afford to replace this mattress! Look at the video. Could you sleep on this thing? I had a perfectly fine bed 2 nights ago. Now what am I supposed to do??
UPDATE: Alan returned my call only to tell me this morning he told his men this morning (after I contacted him) who moved us that they should not have moved the mattress at all because 'this has a 100% chance of happing'. Then he proceeded to tell me that unless the van drove over our mattress, it's not his fault or responsibility. All he said he cared about was that it was wrapped in plastic. WHAT?! The movers loaded our mattress as one of the very first items, then proceeded to fill the truck with an entire home's full of furniture which likely crushed the mattress. It sat on the truck for 5-6 hours, they drove it to our new home and by the time they unloaded the item it's broken in four areas. His only offer to make things right? One hour $120 reimbursed. For a $3k mattress. DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS. On top of all this, I had to clean up the movers pee on my bathroom floor after he urinated all over the floor. These men are not professionals, they don't care at all about their customers, and they will completely disrespect your home and property.
SECOND UPDATE: One of the movers who was in my home called me to tell me he has been fired, and that it’s my husbands fault for not noticing the bed was broken before they left - are you people for real?? Why would you fire someone if you aren’t responsible and in what world is it okay for your employees to personally contact your customers? DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR BUSINESS.
Time Bandits
This company bill me for 5.75 hrs to move 1 bedroom: 13 boxes ( pre packed/staged) , 1 queen bed/frame, TV (packed) / TV stand, 1 loveseat, 1 dresser and miscellaneous household items. Every item that wasn’t box-able they shrink wrapped chairs, desk etc. It took the 3 hrs (min bill time) shrink wrap and get everything outside. To my surprise none of it was actually on the truck just outside. Once the job was complete they broke down the cost $129 per 5 hrs for move( extra $10 per hr to use my debit card to pay its, 2023 who carries cash in that amount to pay for a move) , $60 for fuel, $28 for tape and shrink wrap (was not briefed there would be a charge for supplies) . and 0.75 hr charge for the double drive time to new unit it was a 40 min drive. All said and done it was over $820. Then they had the audacity to ask if I wanted to tip. I declined, shortly after one of the workers asked to use my restroom in the new place. I go in minutes later and to my surprise there’s liquid splashed all over my sink and mirror, very unprofessional. Then several mins later the same worker returns with the bolts/screws for my bed set in hand, no bag or accountability of them just hands them to me. I have not reassembled my bed yet to know if there’s a shortage at this point in time. I almost left out how they added these moving blankets inside the shrink wrap of several items. Had I not remove the wraps and collected these 10 plus blankets I’m sure they would’ve kept the clock going until they removed them all. Ultimately I think many moving companies operate like this to maximize profit, passing any and all operating cost to the costumer. Just sad that they’ll probably read this genuinely believe there’s nothing wrong with anything I just wrote, but I digress.
Good service ?
Carlsbad Square Movers moved us recently. Just a two mile move from one residence to another. They notified us of their arrival ahead of time, took great care in protecting our furniture, loaded it efficiently and were easy to work with. The hardest part was getting their truck up a steep driveway with a 270 degree turn. Eventually they were able to make it even though a few sprinklers were broken in the process (which is the only reason for a 4-star rating v 5). We really didn't think they could manage to get the truck as far as they did. We definitely appreciated Diego, Islam and Ibrahim...easy to work with, professional, efficient, and caring. We would choose them again without hesitation.
