0 Stars should be an option. The military should not be using this place. If you do a move and see this place just cancel ASAP!!!!!! I had multiple items damaged, broken and opened and my shipping containers came to me with MOLD in them. To top it off they are low balling me on my claim. The claims reps (deloris & Angela) are rude and condescending. When you speak to them with facts they just simply act as if the don't remember, they cut you off when talking and they like to argue with customers while refusing to transfer you to a supervisor. When I did ask to speak to a supervisor I was told 'they don't take calls only emails'; to which I have not recieved a reply back from that email. I had to call from different numbers to get through to them. The has been a horrid experience. I will move myself going forward.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Half our stuff was broken, stolen, or damaged in some way. They did thousands in damage and stole property, then they send us a 1.5 k check like that replaces the 3k couch, the 200 tattoo unit, or the 2k China hutch. The guys who were moving us got in a massive argument and a fist fight in my front yard with kids all around. This was the worst experience ever. Do not allow them to move or even touch your stuff.
Avoid, avoid, avoid. I would give zero stars. Read on for details.
The Department of Defense contracted this company to move my family for a Permanent Change of Station.
The company inflicted significant damage to 28 different items that cost us ~$13,150. Per the contract, they must repair or pay full replacement value for all these items. Instead, they repaired two items, offered us a measly $379.24 for some damages, and denied the rest of the claims. They acknowledged that they breached the contract by offering us an 'appearance allowance' of $100 for irreparable damage to four items worth $4,199.83.
This company denied a portion of my claim because it was supposedly submitted past the 180-day submission deadline when it was submitted on day 174. The lead claims adjustor, Deloris Young, was rude in her correspondence, dismissive, and inconsiderate of the time I spent researching the contract, the business rules, or backing up our claims.
Charter Transportation, Inc.'s leadership team promotes the company's mission of improving service members' quality of life. When I contacted their VP, Brad Reineking, to seek redress for Deloris Young's poor customer service, he ignored me. This company is missing the mark.
If you are in the military and preparing for a PCS, I recommend explicitly requesting the Department of Defense to avoid this company when putting the contract out for bids.
Great moving experience, highly recommend
