Christofferson Moving & Storage

This review is remarkable because I did not choose Christofferson to move anything for me (directly). Rather, I made a substantial online purchase (both in cost and size/weight) from a company that contracted Christofferson to deliver the product to me as freight. Delivery is not something I ordinarily think about outside the bigger picture of purchasing a product and expecting it to show up as promised. Yet in this case, I am compelled to speak to my experience with Christofferson directly as it could truly help those of you looking for a *real* company with a human focus on their customers’ needs.

It turns out the product I ordered was on backorder for several months. So, I really had no idea when it eventually would ship. Of course thanks to Murphy, it ended up shipping right when I was on a two week vacation in Japan. I was 13 hours ahead of US Eastern time without a voice phone plan and very limited text/data service. As I started to panic, I frantically looked for a way to contact Christofferson and see what could be done. I ended up using an email contact form meant to start a quote process for moving services I found on Christofferson’s website. Honestly, I had serious doubts what I was asking would ever reach the right people given the contact form’s true purpose. To my delight and surprise, I got an immediate response from someone knowledgeable about my freight delivery (i.e., they did their homework behind the scenes!).

Next thing I knew, I had assurances the delivery would be trucked back to the origin for future delivery. This was from company leadership! I also received text messages from the truck driver who had my delivery on his truck who and would have to bring it back saying no problem, and eventually the driver who did deliver once I got back to the US just today with the same attitude as dealing with family. These were exceedingly kind, informative and supportive messages in a time of extreme stress and with high stakes given the cost of the purchase (over $20 grand).

If you are older like me and know what to typically expect these days from businesses—or even if not and you haven’t quite arrived at a state of lowered expectations you eventually will get to, it is beyond refreshing and sadly rare to have the sort of confirmed experience over every encounter with Christofferson. This is a company that gets it and forms real trust that actually pays off in the end. I would not hesitate to use any of their services and, in fact, hope you dear review reader do the same.
