City Moving

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! My move from from Oregon to Kauai. The person I originally spoke with (Ilina) tells you how great they are and low balls other quotes, but then the price went up more then $2000 then I was quoted. Ilina told me everything is checked off by the list when it's moved from one container to the next to be sure it is all there and that the movers are all very experienced and careful. She was impossible to reach whenever I called after the initial signing of documents. I finally had to get her supervisor involved. There was boot prints on my totes which means they were walking on them. 3 others were crushed. They damaged 14 pieces of my belongings that THEY packed including every single wood piece of my sectional that was brand new and cost me $5000! My mountain bike was severely damaged. They are refusing to pay for other wood items and pictures that their guys packed. I only packed the totes and some boxes and nothing inside of those were damaged. The movers did not go over every item they packed and what they wrote down or the stickers they used. 3 items are missing in action. One was not on the list, so they won't pay for it. I'm not going to make up a dog food container that was filled with 25lb of dog food. They are fighting with me over the .60 per lb for damaged items which is less than $500. I paid over $10,000 for this move. I should have gotten the extra insurance and I should have paid extra for Royal Hawaiian Movers instead of trying to save money because now my stuff is damaged. It also took over 2 months from the day of pick up to the day of delivery.

It seemed like an affordable and reasonable company, and the reviews seemed great.

I moved from California to Hawaii. Paid around $3000 for less than 500 square feet (home) worth of things. It was not worth it.

Pros: The movers were nice. Initial communication was great. They took my bed apart and put it back together.

Cons: several items arrived broken. Things they packed arrived broken. Boxes arrived extremely damaged. My bed frame arrived with a stain. A picture frame arrived warped. They held on to my belongings longer than expected. They offered me $45 for their negligence.

Tip: If you do choose to go with them, pack everything in plastic bins.

I wish that they would have done a better job with the compensation for the damages they caused. Most of the damages came from their packing.

AGAIN, I do not recommend it.

Hired this moving company as it’s had plenty of reviews that were fairly positive. I can assure you now that I would NEVER recommend them. Their first representative sells you the service of your items being scanned from your home with pictures, scanned upon arrival to destination warehouse and scanned as it arrives to your new home. We suspect they stole, or through their process helped facilitate theft of 7 boxes and a PS5 out of one of my boxes (the box was delivered). After we went through the delivery of which was not scanned at arrival to my home and the movers (Moka Movers) checked off by themselves we later noticed all our most valuable boxes were missing. Besides the stolen items most of our boxes and totes came crushed and out furniture damaged. Moka movers never answered the phone after move and city moving claims all boxes delivered when they have obviously not been. I doubt I will see these items again (over 7k in goods) and have since filed a police report against both city moving and Moka Movers. I recommend you do not trust them and do not do business with them. They will blame you for their failure. I would give them negative stars if possible.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We moved from California to Hawaii and have 7 missing boxes with the most valuable things from my house!! All the boxes damaged! The company that delivered my stuff here in Hawaii was Moka movers Hawaii and they arrived 1 hour late to the wrong address and took another 30 minutes to arrive to the correct one. The boxes were visibly damaged and told us to do the claim with the company and they will return us the damaged good. Well …they took advantage of us having a baby and a dog that we were holding and said that they were pretty sure everything was here and didn’t give us a chance to verify the number of boxes they delivered. My husband noticed that his PS5 was missing from the box that you could see they taped back leaving the box with a huge hole!!! And that’s when my alarms went off and start looking for my valuable things! All gone!! I’m a makeup artist myself and thousands of dollars worth of makeup was missing!an much more! Shamelessly they took the most expensive stuff from us! And they has the audacity to tell my husband that they can’t verify if there was really a PS5 from the beginning!
They didn’t respond us back immediately and the company that they used here ( Moka movers) won’t answer our calls at all!

If you need movers, City Moving is the company to use. From start to finish, everyone i spoke to was kind, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in making sure my move from Honolulu to Florida went on with no issues. They held my hand and answered my questions every step of the way. Thank you to Ryan, Teddy, Nick, Richard and everyone else I spoke to. You guys are the best.
