Taking no accountability for any delays or miscommunication , one department sends things off to another department, a move from Chicago to California 19 days later the stuff is still not there , they quote you a very low price to real you in , and when I called back to confirm I was told they cant give the price until the stuff is picked up ( which means you are at the mercy of them coming up with whatever they want to charge you , and you are left in a position of having your stuff in the garage ready for pick up but now the price increased exponentially , when I have issues or called with questions, people did not have the answer I was told someone will call me back the next day , but no one called , everything is pulling teeth , and finally the day of the pick up scheduled they gave us a 7 hr window of their arrival , they still never showed , no one called us by the time it was late in the day , there was no one in the office ...... so this no a subjective renting or complaining, but a chronology of actual events and stating fact of my experience ... oh and at the time I am writing my review , is Nov 19, 2019 ... the stuff was picked up on Oct 31, ... the shipments is till lots somewhere en route , I just called them to inquire , after the guy who answered put me on hold, another woman answered and she told me the department who is in charge of handling my shipment didn't show up for work today so she cant give me any information and that they will open tomorrow at 10 AM and i should call her back ....after I tried to tell her , that this experience has been challenging from day one , she raised her tone at me saying , she already stated that she doesn't have any info, and I should call back tomorrow ... So , there you have it ... I described my experience , my shipment still has not been delivered to California so I'll let you the reader decided for yourself what rating would you give ?! ...... I gave 1 start, because well.. they did pick up my stuff :) , weather we actually will receive it or not that is yet to be seen .
I just used City Wide Movers and wish I had NOT. From the moment they arrived 2 of them acted in a completely unprofessional manner. 3 persons arrived despite the job having been quoted as a 2 person move. The "Foreman" began by saying the salesman did not know what he was doing, so they always bring 3 persons and that the job was too big. The upcharge began as soon as I requested that items be blanket wrapped prior to moving. I had discussed this with the salesman. We had several boxes which were clearly marked fragile...My Mother had passed away hence the need to store her things. Despite the written fragile warning and telling them in person prior to them picking up the items that they were fragile the mover flipped the box over his back without a single care... The entire move was an argument as the Foreman and a long haired bearded mover made several negative comments throughout the entire move. 1 gentleman wrapped the items for me and tried to persuade the foreman to wrap all the items. The frustration and their lack of care led me to decide to not have them move my Mother's China Cabinet as I actually feared it would not survive their treatment. I have used a few moving companies for my kids and Stepfather recently. I wish I had used any if them instead of City Wide Movers. The copies of paperwork which they brought had been copied so many times as to make them illegible. Quite an unprofessional crew. Except for the 1 gentleman who did his job well. I warn you to stay away from these movers.
If I could give zero stars I would! To make a long story short, it has been over three months since the movers picked up our stuff from Chicago to deliver to Minneapolis. According to the contract, they have 31 business days to make the delivery. At this point, they are two months overdue, well after the 31 day grace period. We still don’t know where the stuff is. We have been calling them practically every day, and their answer was: “call us back tomorrow”, or “call us back next week”. The latest “news” from them was that the delivery truck broke down Somewhere on the way and they were trying to find a replacement truck. That was three weeks ago, and we still don’t have a definite answer as to where everything is. Today, I was on the line waiting to speak with someone, for an hour and half before the line went dead. We waisted so much time and money buying new furniture and clothes! Don’t use those movers, even if you have absolutely no other choice!
