Complete scam, do not use! They lied and left off things I told them on my inventory. Once I paid the deposit a different person called me to take my updated inventory and the price doubled. We immediately canceled and lost $2K. From what I’ve seen in other reviews we probably made out better by only losing $2K and going with uhaul. Avoid these people!!!
The lack of professionalism I’ve experienced with this company have taught me a valuable lesson. They talk a good game, just to get you to sign with them and send them the deposit. Which in the end doesn’t go towards the pick up payment. They don’t understand measurements nor dimensions. Then when the truck came for pick up it’s a whole different price compared to what was talked about. I spoke with Frank and he reassured me one thing then it was completely the opposite. Even with the payment method they accepted in the end they only want cash no credit so be mindful of that. The drop off driver I interacted with was different from the one that did the pick up. The delivery driver was rude and disrespectful calling me on the day that “ He doesn’t care if someone is available he will arrive within 12 hours” they were 8 days late than the agreed drop off date and time. When I reached out to the company they are letting me know that I need to work with the driver it’s out of their hands. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They are not professional and they are snake oil salesmen ( lairs)
I wish I could put negative stars, this is the worst experience I have ever had with a moving company. I connected with Coastal a month in advance of my move and was sold an unrealistic dream from a salesperson who is incredibly unprofessional. He acted friendly at first on the call, but quickly turns to belittle me the rest of the experience. I explained very clearly to the sales associate that this move was from Florida to New Jersey and because of that the timing needed to work perfectly for my move and would only be looking for a company that can accommodate that timeline. After being promised not to worry and even reassured that their team will arrive at 7am and pack everything up for a 9am elevator reservation. I was reassured several times, that they get the job done. After booking with Coastal on the Friday night around 7pm already I was texted by a dispatch company that they will arrive 8 hours after the agreed upon time. I asked to speak with a manager to discuss further and received a call from a “manager” who immediately told me this isn’t her problem it’s my problem and then continued to berate me for an hour that there was not one thing she could do. She also continued to tell me that my business was not going to make or break this company, and now looking at the rest of the company’s reviews I would say she probably needs to rethink that. I have never been spoken too so unprofessionally by a customer service manager before in my life. When I asked to speak with her supervisor, she let me know there’s no one she reports too. Which is just incredibly unbelievable and unethical. After the manager promised to see if she can work something out with the dispatch team after an hour of telling me she has nothing to do with this issue, I received a call now an hour later from the sales associate. To one tell me this never happened and I need to “refer to the notes he told me to take.” He then assured me that he gets things done and will fix this. I didn’t hear from the company for days at this point and decided to cancel my reservation with them Sunday morning after finding the best moving company I’ve experience, Solomon & Sons Relocation Services. I was then called 3 times to confirm I knew what I was doing, although hadn’t heard from anyone from days. Seems they needed that business now. On Tuesday morning of my move, after the other company had already completed the job, I received a call from someone to tell me they will be late for the move. And when I told them no I cancelled, I was interrogated on why I wasn’t going with the company anymore for 20 minutes. Coastal is by far the worst moving company you can encounter. Don’t make the mistake I made and believe this company.
BUYER BEWARE. Con artists; false sales pitch, false statements. I used them when they were using the name Five Star Moving Company. I thought I was contracting with a company who only used highly rated carriers (part of the sales pitch.) I'm still trying to collect damages that were almost equal to the final cost of move which was more than double the original quote. Do not believe them if they tell you load size is verified with a legal entity. They do not vet the carriers they use. They offered me $400 even though the carrier's insurance estimate was much higher ($2400 for the $0.60/lb standard insurance rate. My actual damages were around $5700 for belongings of a 2 bedroom condo.) I can't even reach the carrier - they won't answer calls. I have had to start a small claim to try to recover the validated claim amount. Austin was my sales rep also. Don't believe any of his assurances.
Absolute con artists. They outsource, they lie, they ignore, and simply equivocate. Avoid at all costs, go with any other company. Their name is farcical. Stay away from Austin Devereaux in particular. They work on commission and just want to lock you in.
