You are better off using a U-Haul and doing it yourself. This is the worst move I have ever experienced. The movers themselves were pivote and worked fairly hard. Although they moved slow (should be expected with teenage boys). They quoted a 6 hour job. The manager didn’t bother showing up to walk the house for the quote so he quoted over the phone even though I confirmed it and stayed home from work.
The job took 13 hrs and it still was not done. It cost me twice what they quoted I moved probably 1/4 of it myself. And I still had to take the day off the next day to finish up the move. The managers have done or said nothing. Still haven’t talked to the “GM” after he told the three guys he would send more people to help. Bottom line if I knew I was going to miss work and take two days to move and move a ton of it my self. (I also drove maybe 4 pick up truck loads my self). It would have been cheaper to rent a U-Haul. This place is trash and their leadership is complete trash.
**Beware: This place is a complete joke.**
I chose this company because of their high reviews and the approximate pricing listed on their website. Despite being two hours late, the movers were polite and didn’t complain about the heavy load.
My issue began when I was not given any formal paperwork about the amount owed for the labor. Only after all my items were loaded onto the truck, which didn't even take up half the space, I was informed that I was being charged over $1,000 instead of the expected $125.
When I requested to speak with the manager about the outrageous and hidden fees that were never discussed, he completely refused to talk to me. After several attempts to contact the manager and the support line, I was told that they do not 'work with the website.'
I was then given two options: either have my belongings dumped on the road in the most inconvenient way possible or pay the exorbitant fee. This is completely how not to run an organization. I chose the first option and found a better alternative to help move my discarded items to a local drop-off.
The guy who came out to give a quote was very nice and we had our appointment scheduled almost a month out. The day we were scheduled (July 5) they were supposed to arrive between 8-9am with the session being from 8-10am. We asked for an ETA through their personalized website and didn’t get a reply and ended up having to call their customer support numbers (which all lead to the same call center) four times trying to get an ETA only to be told they don’t have a way to track the truck and the best they can do is reach out to the team to request an ETA. They also could not get an ETA in the three attempts made from the corporate side alone. After the fourth call to customer support they gave us the number of the general manager for the Justin TX office so we could call them and when we called it went straight to voicemail. We called and cancelled at 10:15am and at 10:34am we got a message from a mover named Nolan saying they’d be here in 15-20 minutes because there had been a problem with the truck this morning and it had needed to be towed. When I responded right after receiving the text letting them know we’d cancelled the service because we had to be out of our house shortly and had to quickly make other plans we never heard from them again. Thank goodness we have an amazing family that rushed to help us during this stressful morning because College Hunks Justin left us high and dry.
Desmond and Josiah were perfect gentlemen and hard workers. They took care of all my waste needs without any complaints. I have already recommended them to two of my neighbors and I will use them again if needed. Thanks guys.
