College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Des Moines

I had the best moving experience today with Des Moines College Hunks - the move was coordinated, seamless and was even faster than originally quoted. Deante and Grady were fantastic, they were thorough and handled all items with care. I highly recommend!

College Hunks moved my household possessions on 12-27-24. I cannot say enough great things about them. Justin and Zig were very congenial, efficient, professional and most importantly very careful with every item. Also, the price is very reasonable compared to other moving services.
I’ve moved numerous times and regret not ever using their service before. They were excellent and I highly recommend them. They deserve 5+ stars.

I wish I could give zero stars. Do not ever use this service in the Des Moines area. They broke our less than one year old 65' TV, a desk, and our bookshelf and then claimed they were not liable as they 'do not account for what happens in transit'. The TV is damaged in such an obviously human-error way, and on top of that, we literally witnessed them dropping our bookshelf. When I submitted a claim, they didn't call me for well over a week and then claimed I asked them not to wrap our TVs, which was an outright lie as I did call them prior to the move to ask for wrapping. Instead, they wrapped a random shelf and neither of the TVs or mirrors (which is what I actually requested wrapping for). Hands down the worst experience I have ever had with a moving company, and now I need to buy a new TV with no compensation or empathy from the company what-so-ever. I have moved many times and have never had this bad of an experience, and have never had items broken. They are incompetent when it comes to the services they provide. Do yourself a favor and skip them to avoid having to pay an outrageous amount just to have to replace half your furniture once it's been in their hands. I know they will most likely respond to this review and try and make a 'He Said, She Said' argument about the TV wrapping, considering that is what they did to me over the phone, which should just show you the incompetency and level of customer service this company provides.
