I will not use College Hunks for any future moves. I booked my service for 12/30 and The movers I had were very kind, however did damage an entertainment stand making it unusable. This was done due to mover error. They cleaned up the mess and informed me that it was dropped. They were extremely apologetic. The one who dropped it called their manager in front of me on speaker and confirmed that the manager would call me shortly after the movers left, however this never happened. I called to see if I could get the manager on the phone to discuss the next steps but instead was told I would not be able to speak to anyone and would have to “just email and wait for a response”. I found this extremely rude seeing that I was literally there when my mover confirmed that the manager would call me. I sent an email following up and reporting the damage on 1/3 after not receiving a phone call for a few days. On 1/7 I received a reply stating that they would evaluate my claim and get back to me. After a week of not receiving a response, I emailed back on 1/15 asking for a follow up and was told I would be reimbursed only $35. I paid $200 for this item and the damage was completely due to employee error. They told me that they would only reimburse me $0.60 per pound and estimated that the weight was 58lbs. This was a huge understatement and the item was actually 102lbs. Regardless, the customer service was just super rude and careless. My movers themselves were super apologetic and cool but you are better off just going somewhere else. I should not have had to follow up after their response to get them to tell me how much my reimbursement would be. Make sure you carefully review your any estimates you get to make sure your item isn’t being undervalued. Plan on going for the expensive insurance plan. On 1/15 I requested my payment to be sent back to me via check and asked for a timeline. They did not respond. I followed up on 1/28 and today on 2/4 and finally got a response that they processed my refund back to my card which I specifically directed them not to do. Extremely disappointed with the service I received.
