College Hunks Hauling Junk Kansas City

Terrible experience. Recommend seeking other options.

Prior to our move, called 'local' office number which took us to a national number. Three times we were told someone from the local office would call us. Nobody called.

We disassembled two beds and a large children's play-set to make the move smoother and save them time. Only item that needed to be taken apart was master bed and that took an hour and a half for them to do. We are not faulting the effort of the movers but that is a very long time for one piece of furniture.

Quoted six hours and it took almost double. The weather wasn't the greatest but we had a limited number of items that were outside. We paid close to double what we were quoted which is absurd...especially considering a College Hunk Team Member came out to provide us with a quote in person. I'm unsure how it's our fault there were more times when the company itself came to look prior? The inaccuracy caused the trucks to be filled earlier than expected which led to them calling in more assistance and another trip back to the original house. We were charged for the extra help even though they ended up standing around waiting for another truck to arrive. Instead of moving larger items in first, boxes were brought in which caused a cluster when the bigger items needed to be brought into the home.

Although another trip was made, we still had several items that didn't fit. We ended up making additional trips in our personal vehicles to accommodate the items that were left.

My wife's brand new refurbished desk was scratched with some of the paint being chipped. We didn't notice until after they left (see above with boxes being spread in every which direction). We were told someone from the local office would call to resolve the issue....two weeks later and still nothing.

I can't blame the effort of the movers and this post should not fall on them. With that being said, the disorganization and lack of accuracy in the quote was awful. I would not recommend this company to anyone unless changes are made.

Tyler and his team, were very easy to work with. They did a great job. The estimating process was fair and they worked with me on a solution when it was a little outside our budget. They were efficient in getting their work done while still doing a thorough job.
