DO NOT USE THIS SCAM COMPANY! I am convinced every good review on here is fake. Like everyone else, I was grossly misquoted in order to secure my business. My things are currently being held hostage until I sign an NDA.
I don’t even know where to begin with the horrible experience I have gone through. My out of state move is literally triggering just thinking about my experience with Concorde. Without completely bashing them, I’m going to say save your money and go elsewhere. It’s likely they will try to double initial costs. There website said 5 stars. My bad for barley checking there less than 3 star review on google.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! This is the worst service experience I have ever received in my life. Please use a U-Haul and if needing assistance hire workers on either end of the move. Concorde Van Lines are not a moving company. They are a broker. The whole moving process has been extremely chaotic, unclear, longer in duration and leading to much higher costs then what was stated.
Here is how the scam works. I signed a “nonbinding estimate” with Concorde Van Lines to do move after reading and buying into their many 5-star fake reviews. I paid them $1,200 even though they don’t do anything as part of the moving process, and then the mover was to get $2,300 as agreed to as part of my contract. Concorde Van Lines then subcontracted my move right before the move is to occur to a moving company with only 1-star reviews. I don’t know who the company is till they arrived for the move (therefore, there was no way to investigate them ahead of time). The moving company loaded all my items into a van, and then proceeded to overcharge me for the move by $1,200. I am essentially stuck as they have all my belongings, and there is little that I can do to challenge the charges. Concorde purposefully created a lower estimate for me to sign, that would then be overcharged by the moving company. My belongings arrived in Chicago (coming from New Orleans) 41 days after the move began (6 business days late for a move of this kind). To function with everyday life, I ended up needing to borrow or buy many possessions as I waited for my belongings to arrive (I had been told by Concorde Van Lines that the move would take 1-2 weeks’ time). I canceled many plans and events due to regular changes in the delivery timeframe. I had even been told that my belongings were to be delivered on a specific date, and then I find out on the day that my belongings were not to be delivered an no explanation was given.
During the moving process, Concorde did not provide any ongoing communication with me about when the move would occur. I reached out to them on several occasions, and they gave unsubstantial responses. I have filed complaints directly with Concorde for the moving process and they just redirect any blame for what has happened towards the moving company, and won’t take any ownership for any of the issues (even though Concorde Van Lines subcontracted the move to a moving company who has extremely poor ratings and a record for moves, and they set me up to be overcharged through the moving process).
We would give them 0 stars if we could and here is why.
1) No disclosure of using a third party to move us over the phone
2) We were told that our 'Moving Specialist', Bella, would be with us all along the way, well Bella never answered her number or texts after the third-party moving company took our stuff.
3) We were charged $90 move because the flight of stairs was more than 10. Were we told a flight of stairs could only be 10 stairs tall, NO.?
4) We received a call on June 17th saying our furniture was 1.5 hours out from destination and are we ready to receive it? Our first Date of delivery was June 20, we had not moved to NC from Florida yet. We were driving there on 6/19/22. That was confirmed twice by the movers the day they picked up our furniture and belonging and by the quality assistant/dispatch person, Scott, who confirmed our move the day before our furniture was picked up.
5) June 20th the first date of delivery came and went. We called everyday asking for word of delivery at both Ocean Moving and Storage and Concorde Van Lines.
6) We have called every business day to see when we will be added to the schedule, July 5th we were told we are still not on the schedule. I have spoken with Nicole at Concorde Van Lines at least 4 times in the last 16 businesses days. And Scarlet from Ocean Moving.
7) 7/13/22 is when I called Concorde Van Lines to hear that Ocean Moving is finally putting the furniture in the truck at 9:43 AM. As of 3:45 PM we have not gotten a confirmation email which Nicole said would be sent as soon as the truck was loaded.
8) 7/15/22 Called and Scarlet said the furniture wasn’t loaded. The facts should show deception or true incompetence. Scarlet said due to the fact the furniture was now 21 days from the first day of delivery, we would receive a $25/day discount for each day not delivered.
9) We continued to call until 7/19/22, two days before the last possible date to deliver in which the US DOT calls the day in which your belongings can be considered in a hostage situation.
10) We called on 7/20/22 in the morning to hear our things were being loaded and we would get an call 24 hours before the furniture would be delivered and an email confirming the truck was in route.
11) There was no email that day and we called at 4:45 PM to hear our furniture would be delivered the next day. Noah was called at 6:45 PM to be told that the furniture would be delivered at 7 AM.
12) We called previously we were told we would have a 24-hour notice to receive our things so we could make arrangement with the apartment building for delivery.
13) They charged $75 for the elevator and $75 for the long hallway. We were told there was no charge for using an elevator by Concorde in our discussion before hiring them.
14) Upon delivery 2 boxes were damaged, one clearly labeled FRAGILE box was damaged, and one was open and one small bath cabinet was broken beyond repair.
15) We can only say we were frustrated beyond tolerance with the lack of professional.
16) The 2 movers who did the delivery were amicable and understanding with our frustration.
Save yourself heartache and don't use this company.
We thought we were dealing w/a moving company, they’re BROKERS. Please don’t ever call them. They give you a quote, take your money, then farm the job out to another moving company, who charges you even more. Now our items are w/this other company and no delivery date has been given. Should’ve had the POD delivered, at least I’d have my items.
