This company should have never been allowed to be a moving company. NEVER EVER. They're beyond belief terrible. It's time to call the NJ State Consumer Protection Agency, NJ Tax Division and the IRS on these scammers
I called Countrywide Relocation for a last minute move, I spoke to both John and William on the phone who were very friendly. I ended up booking them as William said he was able to give me a good deal. I booked them for $2300 for a one bedroom apartment move transporting items two hours away. I double checked my inventory on the paperwork before signing and paying my deposit, it was correct so I provided a deposit. The day of the move the truck showed up two hours late only after I called them repetitively. Once they finally showed up, they refused to take half my items that were on the inventory without paying double what I agreed to. This resulted in me having to throw out these items as I had no way to transport them. Over $1500 in furniture. I have spoken to this company repetitively and they will not even give me a partial refund. Whatever you do, do not under any circumstances book through this company.
Complete scam. They made me put down a large 1300 dollars deposit and told me I had 3 days to cancel. I canceled the next day. They took my money out anyway and now nobody will call me back. They give me the run around that it’s in there canceled department and there is nobody there. SCAM. SCAM SCAM!!!
WARNING!!!!!!!! THEY STILL HAVE MY THINGS AND HAVE NOT SENT THEM AS PROMISED. MY ITEMS WERE PICKED UP 30 DAYS AGO. ALL IN ONE MOVING/COUNTRYWIDE (broker) PUT MY ITEMS IN THEIR 'STORAGE' AND STILL HAVE NOT SHIPPED. I WAS TOLD INITIALLY MY ITEMS WOULD ARRIVE IN 5 DAYS. THEY WILL NOT GIVE ME A DATE FOR SENDING THE SHIPMENT. I MAY NOT EVER SEE MY THINGS AGAIN.
Avoid this company. They are a 'bait and switch' organization. I received an estimate from Allen Cohen, Senior Moving Coordinator for $3430 to move my disabled brother from South Carolina to Wisconsin. After they loaded his stuff, the movers told my brother Terry that he now owed over $3000 for a move that he was led to believe was about $3430 total. He's already paid over $1500. He should only owe them $1500 or so more. The salesman make promises and then hand us off to Customer Care. Then the run around really begins. Different dates and Miscommunications. My brother suffers every day from physical and mental ailments due in large part from his action in Vietnam. This company believes in kicking a man that is down. His wife died two months ago.
