It's been almost 24hours since I purchased the storage unit. I received my confirmation but no email with my access code. I was Starting to feel like I was being scammed, but then they called me and everything is how it should be. Thank you CubeSmart. Excellent customer service
First of all, the online sign up process went great. I requested a 10 x 15 unit and they graciously set me up for automatic payments. I also received a gate code to access the site. As I was looking for my storage unit, I realized that the unit numbers didn't match up. Long story short, I was assigned a unit that was originally 2 (2) 5 x 15 units. They had removed the petition between them, to make a 10 x 15 with 2 (2) 3 and a half foot roll up doors instead of a full width door. ??? I ended up getting a standard 10 x 15 with a standard roll up door, but for $8 more a month

Rented one of the larger units for storing apartment furniture, and got a 19% rent increase after 4 months. I understand rent increases happen, but this is easily the highest rent increase I have ever gotten at a storage unit location and after the shortest duration of time. Management says they have zero control over rent prices, they all come direct from corporate. Say they usually 'don't get complaints' which I find hard to believe, are other tenants really eating multiple 20% rent hikes a year or did I just get singled out? I don't have the resources or time to move to a competing storage location so this is extra frustrating.
