It is very rare that I give such a low review. In all my years of doing reviews, this may only be the 2nd time, so I don't do it lightly. This company was recommended by my realtor as I was moving from Florida to Connecticut and had a huge and difficult move. They seemed like a good choice, and I opted for them as they are a small family run business vs. a large corporation. This seemed an advantage at first. They answered the phone immediately and we're very courteous. I spoke to one of the bosses, Gib, who asked for videos and details of the contents of my things. I had two locations to be moved, one in a storage area and one in my 700 sq ft apartment. The storage area had 2 units, one containing huge wooden crates with very heavy artwork. I sent the bill of lading for that one, which had all the dimensions and weights (one was 900 lbs)! It was no joke. They scheduled me for a range of days, which was difficult because I had to book a flight out. We finally narrowed it down to a Friday, which they ended changing last minute to Thursday, so I had to pay for an extra night at the hotel. I let that go. When the movers came, it was a man and his wife only, and she didn't normally do runs with him, nor did she lift much. Plus, the truck was already half full of the owners' things because they had already made a stop to pick up his daughters stuff and stuff for him to sell. I knew immediately that ALL my things wouldn't fit. At the storage unit, the largest crate nearly fell on the woman and would have hurt her very badly. The only way they got it in their truck at all was because another unrelated truck there offered to call one of their trucks with a lift. Otherwise, it never would have happened. When they got to my apartment, the mover saw right away it wouldn't fit. So I had to sit for hours and wait while they found a storage unit and unload the owners' things, then come back for mine. It was a 12 hour day. That was Thursday, I arrived in Connecticut on Saturday and didn't get my stuff until Tuesday. Three guys showed up at least that day, including the original one. They uncrated the art, but we're in such a hurry about where it all should go, I ended up having to move it myself. They broke one stone sculpture my mother made (she died, that's why I moved and have all her art), which is irreplaceable. It's a tri-level, and they ended up putting a lot on the lowest level because they were in a hurry to leave. For the huge amount of money I paid, I was shocked by how little they did honestly. And when I unpacked, I found that things were missing and that I ended up with a big plastic bin of his daughters. I have called and emailed and have been ignored. So now I'm giving up. Instead, I will just give them a negative review. But what I will say is that without their employees like Pete and Anna, who worked themselves to exhaustion and have so much heart, I am not sure where this company would be. Pete single handedly moved me! Even though I wasn't happy with the whole situation, I made sure every one of the movers got a decent tip because I know they often don't. It's grueling work. I am grateful for those two. But Daley... very disappointed. I told my realtor about this, too. Maybe you don't care and shame on you for that.
I used Daley Moving in January to move me from Avon to Canton. It was such a stressful time because my closing kept getting pushed and I had very little control over timelines, but Daleys was understanding and helped me through the entire process.
The crew I had on my move was incredible! You could tell they were professionals in their trade, and also had such a kind approach to such a stressful day.
Because of issues with my closing being pushed, my belongings had to be loaded and unloaded and loaded again onto the truck. I was so worried that there would be broken or lost items, but I can happily report there was not one claim on my job.
This company operates exactly how they claim. Professional, efficient, and treats you like family! 10/10 would recommend them for your next move!
The Daley moving team was fantastic. Dan and Marc in December and Kyle and Brandon in March. helped my family in a difficult situation having to make a short term move for three months. They responded quickly to our dates, were respectful and courteous during the move, everything got moved safely and efficiently and pulled it off without a hitch. It was obviousl the team had a lot of experience as we were moving into a temporary facility that had very strict rules, and they knew how it all worked without having to ask for assistance. Everything was in place as requested and ready to work, moving into assisted living and then moving back home. Many thanks to the team for being so committed to the customer experience and being so kind.
