MOVING TRUCK CAUGHT FIRE AND THEY ARE STILL MAKING MY PARENTS PAY FOR THE MOVE.
My 85/93 year old parents hired this company to move them from Florida to Michigan. The day before we were expecting the delivery, I received a call that the moving truck was FULLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES on the highway due to a failed repair. My parents lost everything. My mom only had the outfit she wore on the plane. They offered us NO immediate help. They turned it over to their insurance company, which made my parents give an accounting of what was on the truck. We spent 6 very emotional days filling out this rediculously detailed list, only to find out that they are reimbursing them at the rate of sixty cents per pound!! We have spent the last month trying to replace their necessities, and it has been exhausting and expensive. 90+ years of family photos are gone. We were not even allowed to see the remnants of their belongings. The owner will not return our call, and as of today, they have not even reimbursed them for the cost of the move. The owner told his general manager to tell us that 'the loading of the truck went fine,' so they are only giving them 1/2 their money back.
