Dougherty Brothers Moving

Estimate changed many times. Sure it could partly have been on us, but hard to imagine it going from the $4k range to the $16k range that dramatically. Also, we aren’t professional movers, so you should be taking a cell phone video of the whole apartment then own the estimate, whether you’re off or not.

Lots of unexpected additional charges “distance fee of $1000 at the pick up for having to walk farther”, again, how do you not know that already. Movers arrive at destination and an additional fee because they had to shuttle the stuff to the house because the city required a permit. Well, isn’t that your job to get?

Also the way you have to pay is either Zelle or Cash. Both terrible options.

Someone will disrupt this industry with a better moving services and all these subpar movers will likely go out of business, or maybe not, and it’s just a terrible experience but since you do t move often they don’t care.

I’m tempted to give 2 stars since the stuff did make it in one piece, but the payment experience combined with the poor estimating and additional fees is too hard to get past.

This company sub contracts with other companies. They give you a very low quote then contract out to a company which will charge you much more once you have given a deposit. Their people were very nice but not responsive to my concerns. My move from NH to NC was a disaster because Dougherty short changed me and gave the wrong info to their contractors. Go somewhere else.

They took care of my stuff like it was their own very good and very reliable company you can trust. 10 stars

I have nothing but good things to say about Dougherty brothers moving. I didn't know how I was going to move on time and they went above and beyond to get me into my new place.

The guys at Dougherty Brothers were a delight. I couldn't of imagined things going more smoothly. Their experience is evident as is the intelligence and character. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. A very trustworthy group of young men.
