Dumbo Moving + Storage

If you’re reading this considering whether or not you should book with Dumbo, please close this window and book with another moving company. Dumbo was an absolute nightmare to work with.

The day before I moved, I got a confirmation email with the wrong time. When I finally spoke to somebody on the phone, he said they “thought they might do my move earlier.” You can’t just change somebody’s reservation without asking.

Half an hour after I got off the phone with that person, I got another call asking (telling?) me to move my time. At this point, I’m really infuriated and have lost all trust that they will arrive at the time I needed. Why did they seem to have no record of my previous call?

The next morning (day of my move) I receive a third call, again asking me to change the time of my move. The thing is, I wish they would have just told me why they wanted to move my time.

The reason later became apparent to me when the movers arrived an hour late. After dumbo harassed me with multiple phone calls, they couldn’t even bother to leave a courtesy call to let me know they were running late. On top of that, they only sent a crew of 2 movers. While the guys did a great job, it took them forever, and I wasn’t moved in to my new place until almost midnight.

The customer service from Dumbo is absolutely abysmal. I do not recommend them and I cannot believe they are still in business.
