Eagle Star Moving

They were awesome! Highly recommended. Clso and Sam were very efficient and friendly.

Save yourself a lot of stress and money and don't let this company near your move.
Cliff notes version:
-Movers were 1 hour and 15 minutes late
-I was promised 3 movers and only 2 showed up
-They didn't complete my move because they ran out of time
-They caused major damage to my doorway and refrigerator because they ignored my instructions to take the door off and ignored me when I told them to stop trying to force the refrigerator through the doorway.
-When I called them on the damage they got upset and refused to move the refrigerator and started saying that they needed to charge me $100 dollars extra because it was complicated. I told him that the estimate only says they can charge extra if the item is over 250 lbs which this refrigerator was not.
-They proceeded to get on their phones for 15 minutes talking with the owner and only continued with moving the refrigerator after repeatedly refusing to move it after I begged them telling them that I absolutely had to be moved out of the house by this weekend.
-They promised to deduct 30 minutes from my final charge and I'm just now realizing in doing the calculations that he charged me for the full time.
-Even though my estimate says I can pay by credit card, the lead mover kept pressuring me to pay by cash or Zelle even though I told him I needed to pay by card. He finally let me pay by card after calling the owner who also tried to pressure me into paying by cash or Zelle.
-I tried to call the company when they were refusing to move my refrigerator. There is no after-hours support. The office was closed. I don't know if I have recourse to get a refund for the damages they caused.
-My estimate says that they reimburse for damages. I'm hoping that they do when I call them tomorrow.
-I will try to call the company tomorrow.
Bottom line: I don't recommend this company. Save yourself a big headache and lots of stress and go with another moving company. There were a lot of other little things that went wrong besides what I'm listing. These guys are not professionals. I moved last year from the Bay area with a fantastic moving company who did this same move in 2.5 hours. I didn't need to give the Bay area moving company any instructions. These guys with Eagle Star didn't seem to know simple things like padding furniture with moving blankets I supplied. I had to ask the guy to pad my furniture after he tried to just shrink wrap it. Then he made excuses saying my moving blankets were too small until I showed him how they needed to be wrapped. I had to specifically ask them to shrink wrap some other things that are common sense. And the lead guy wasn't good at giving instructions to the other mover who he later told me doesn't speak English. Which was very odd because before he told me that I was speaking to the guy and he understood what I was saying.

I'm reading other reviews on Yelp that I wish I had seen before I ever booked with Eagle Star. Ugh. A nightmare.

Update: About 5 minutes after I posted this review (and one on Yelp) I received a phone call from the lead mover. It's 10:30pm! Of course I didn't answer it. I hope he doesn't start harrassing me.
