Picked up our household property in May. Have not heard from them since. No response, not a word. It's a total loss!

If 0 were possible I'd leave 0. Do not trust this company, do not use this company. If a broker connects you to them, say hell no. Liars, bait and switch, con artists. DO NOT HIRE.

Review:

This is a tricky one. Ernest Movers was forced on me by Colonial Van Lines, who contracted them to take responsibility of my belongings for a cross country move from VA to CO. I had a good experience with the team who loaded the truck in VA. They were respectful, efficient and despite bad communication from their main office regarding the rules for moving in this particular condominium, they managed to get the job done quickly and even cleaned up the common areas once they were done.

But it's been downhill ever since. For starters, my contracted delivery window in CO was 7/3 - 7/13, this was the time frame I was planning on and had prepared for, but somehow the owner, Roman, got it in his head that I could not accept delivery until August. As I had only communicated and contracted with Colonial, I have no idea why he believed this, especially since I had paid for a large storage unit for delivery before his crew even picked up from my apartment. He did not confirm with me, nor did he reach out to Colonial to see if he had the correct information, they just left my stuff in storage until 7/20 and then eventually loaded it on the truck.

My belongings are now 15 days overdue (and counting), and I was eventually put in direct contact with their dispatch. Justin from Everest Mover's dispatch cannot (or WILL not) give me an update on where they are, or how long it will be until they can be delivered. I have been reaching out daily to provide status updates from my end, and have asked each day for them to confirm receipt, and to please provide a status update on where the truck is located. All but one have gone unanswered, and the only information they provided me was 'We will let you know when the driver is 48 hours away'.

I believe it will be at least another week before my items arrive, which will mean they will be almost a month late, and while Ernest Movers apologized for the 'Miscommunication' they have failed to accept any responsibility for their error, and have done absolutely nothing to demonstrate their commitment to making this issue right. They are refusing to acknowledge our request to be reimbursed for every day they are late, they are refusing to provide updates on the location and condition of my items, they have refused to tell me where my items were stored when they were off the truck and hanging out in Jersey for almost a month. Basically the worst communication you can imagine from a company you're contracted to pay thousands of dollars to for their service. To add insult to injury, when on the phone with Justin to figure out why my items were so late, and I was understandably frustrated, he literally said 'Look, we want to get rid of your stuff....' ... perhaps I'm just nitpicking here, but his phrasing doesn't really inspire a lot of confidence in the condition they'll be in when they arrive....

I cannot in good faith recommend this company to anyone, either for direct hire, or if you should see that the moving broker you contracted with has hired them. I may come back and update this review based on the condition of my items when they finally arrive, and how much I am reimbursed for the MANY inconveniences and loss of money this situation has caused me, but based on my experience with their team over the last few weeks, I don't have a good feeling about delivery, or about their ability to accept responsibility for themselves and their bad business practices.

Review:

We had a fantastic experience with Ernest. All of the movers they sent to back up our two apartments were great. Very polite, professional, and efficient. Sadly we used a broker (Safe Ship) for our move and they were an absolute nightmare. Safe Ship ended up charging us more than 2x the cost we were originally quoted at. The only good part of our moving experience from NYC to TX was Ernest moving and Storage. Work directly with Ernest, do not use a broker.

Review:

This company was hired through a broker. They did a pretty good job with loading, writing down the number of each item and then giving me the receipt of what items they are moving. They also did a decent job with packing the items. Even though the receipt was a bit delayed, the driver Alex showed up on time on the receipt day. I commend him for working through the summer heat. My items were not damaged like the items in the other reviews. The only complaint I had is that they charged $300 extra for packaging material that was originally not in the contract I signed with the broker. However, I still agreed to give it as they generally followed through and loaded everything in an orderly fashion. Overall I had a positive experience with this company - I got a great deal for the distance I was moving.
