Estate Sales and Clean Outs by X Marks The Spot

Mark did a great job taking care and selling my mom’s house. He moved furniture, piano and assorted objects to myself and my children. He put in a security system since I was out of state and coordinated visits from various companies. He has a pleasant personality and found the right buyer that would be happy in the house. Very happy with his overall performance and a joy to work with. Highly recommended.

There are not enough stars or superlatives to sum up Mark and X Marks the Spot. The ancient Greeks had a god of happy accidents, and it was by accident that we found Mark to handle my late mother's home clearance and sale. From the beginning he was open, friendly and hard working - he did it all: getting movers, property clean out and upkeep, recommending an attorney (who was excellent), His communication and advocacy skills were incredible. One incident to sum it all up: A certain fuel oil company neglected to deliver to the empty house during a recent cold snap. Fortunately, Mark was conducting one of his routine checks on the property, then took charge of cleaning up the damage from the ruptured pipes, all without being asked, since we live several states away. We never needed to worry about anything, he stayed actively involved even when the closing was delayed for over a month. Mark was a blessing to our family during a difficult time. Additionally, his fees were more than fair, and he earned every penny.

I cannot say enough good things about Mark and the services he provides for estate management and clean out. My situation was challenging because I live out of state and I quickly had to place my mom in an assisted living facility and then deal with a vacant home that needed to be sold. He was recommended by my realtor who found him solely through online reviews, which I honestly was leery about. Mark was just a godsend whose incredible professionalism, patience, sensitivity to belongings, constant communication and willingness to help in any way really keep me calm and assured that everything would get done with great care, even though I live across the country. My mom had a beautiful home that honestly was an 'organized hoarders' paradise - so many things she had created and collected with great passion and talent but made the clean out a headache. Mark handled these items with such care, realizing (even when I did not want to) the sentimentality and value of these as decisions were made to save, sell or donate. He made sure sensitive documents were identified and processed safely. He helped arrange shipment of furniture, etc. to my out-of-state residence. This is just a very short list of the services he provided. In my experience, his services are absolutely worth the cost. Caring for elderly parents and their estates is a gutwrenching process full of heavy emotions and lots of hard work - Mark made all this bearable. Thank you for everything, Mark ! :)

I stumbled upon Mark when I very suddenly needed to move my father out of his apartment and into an assisted living facility. There are many companies to pick from but he did an amazing job, especially given the timing and other challenges, for example I live out of town. He met me the same day I reached out and managed my expectations and all that goes along with emptying out his house and the selling of my father's car. He gave me a detailed contract and was in contact every step of the way (including photos!). He is EXTREMELY hands on and is onsite during the entire project. He gave a very fair and honest price for the contents and helped manage all aspects of the project including meeting and managing the movers, going through every document himself(1,200 lbs!), getting a storage unit set-up, selling my father's car, removing ALL contents of the unit, delivering the apartment like new (had it cleaned) and making multiple trips to my father's new living facility (even setting up his computer). I cannot recommend Mark enough for all of your estate needs. He went way above and beyond.
