Extra Space Storage

Edit: brett himself claimed this is acceptable. He himself also said according to their plowing contract if we get over 8 in every little bit is supposed to be gone. Well it's funny considering not a single town around us got less than nine and a half inches. The management, yes Brett verified this is acceptable. Flood out our storage units with ice dams! Anybody knows how irresponsible this is for plow and a manager to allow. I'm not going to say it any quieter, this manager should be f i r e d immediately before he cost anyone else more property

I know drove through here today and informed me I should probably check on my unit as a solid ice dammed in and potentially flooding.

Well, I'm not sure how I am supposed to check inside my unit to see if it's flooding because I cannot physically in any way possible break through the icebank the snow plow left 2 ft up all of the doors. Why would you even consider plowing if you're going to make it so people can't actually access their units?

Everybody who tries to access their unit should be getting paid if they cannot possibly get into their unit due to management freezing their door into a solid block of ice that was not there until they decided to put it there.

Considering the fact my rent went up over $100 in one month along with going up every single other month, and they completely plow you in with solid ice bank that floods out your unit, I would say Stay Far Away!
They don't even actually have security cameras like they're listing on Google claims They claim they have state-of-the-art security..... one drive through will let you know their cameras for smashed to Pieces probably 10 years ago and are hanging, smashed to pieces.
The fact now though that I've come to my unit today to find it locked in 2 ft of solid ice and flooding, leads me to leave the review to tell everyone to stay far away!
You cannot run away any quicker actually.

If you think the prices on the website is what you're going to be paying, just wait, you'll be at almost $300 a month in less than a year for tiny units with no security that flood directly due to the ownership's choices and none else.

I’m of the mindset that if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all, which is why I ignored the first survey request I received. I’m now receiving another request, so here’s my feedback…. I signed a contract for a $200/mo rental charge. A few months after moving all my stuff into the unit, I received a notification that the monthly rent was going up to $300! I reached out to Extra Space storage and was directed to section 30 of the rental contract which notes that ‘… the terms are subject to change upon 30 days written notice to customer, including but not limited to monthly rental charges…’. Ok, so even if I saw that I might think they could possibly raise the rent by 10% or so… but by 50%!?!?! After a phone call expressing my displeasure, I was able to get the monthly rent reduced from $300 to $266 (which is still a 33% increase!) however if I had the time, a truck, and somewhere else to store my stuff I would have moved it out. If someone had given me a heads-up at the outset regarding this rental increase I would have used another company. Seems like a questionable business practice.
