Extra Space Storage

Very clean and easy and helpful texts and notifications for billing and updates. Charlie in the office was super nice and professional. While it is not the closest to downtown Charleston, it was no more than 15 minutes to get there and the price was just right. Highly recommend.

We had a very pleasant experience while storing our belongings at this facility. The staff were always very helpful and courteous. The building was secure, clean and well maintained.

Overall the service is great and have no complaints there. Main thing I would caution is the price gauging. I started with a rate that is 1/2 of the price I pay now. I got a competitive rate when I started, aligned with other storage units in the area, and three months later they doubled it, notifying me by mail.

Update: i got my second increase with 8 months. It went from 80 to 250… time to move units.

Im torn on this review.

Guy on phone said if we paid in full that our price would be locked in for the whole contract! Guy at store said that was a lie.

I called the 800 number when I got home and they said that the prepay STILL guarantees a locked in rate.

I guess we will find out in three months if the rate goes up or not…

Update. Rate didnt change. Corporate was correct and store (1 guy specifically) was incorrect. 4 stars.
