Extra Space Storage

Had a wonderful experience doing business with Andy with extra space storage on first Capitol in St Charles.Awesome customer service and plenty of space to fit my needs. With 24 hour access to my belongings for a great price and nice clean facilities! Highly recommended!

As of this moment it is the best storage money can buy! You name it they will try to help. Friendly staff and have always been greeted nicely. Would definitely choose over any other unit currently!! Give them a shot??

Corporate deserves a one-star rating, but I gave it two because the property employees do actually try to be helpful. I have no complaints about the staff here from my personal experience, but the pricing model that corporate uses generates aggressive rate increases multiple times a year. If you are planning on a very short-term solution, this is probably a fine place to be. I was here for several years and recently moved out because the rate on my 10x30 unit had climbed to almost $425 a month. That is simply not sustainable. The property manager if you ask them nicely will always try to intervene and get the rate increase, but the reality is that you have to do this little dance three to four times a year and that is just exhausting.

I am not a person who writes negative reviews, but if I could save someone the trouble that I went through, then I happily will. I started with Extra Space in August '23 for $41/mo. Within two months they doubled the price. Not having the time and extra money to rent a uhaul and move my belongings, I was stuck paying twice the price I had agreed on. In August '24, I get a card (no email) that they're once again doubling the price and I had only a month's notice. I took out my belongings at the end of August, and there were rat droppings all over my bags and furniture. When I spoke with the employee on duty, they told me there was nothing that could be done about it. I do not suggest using Extra Space Storage. There are plenty of more reliable options nearby.
