Extra Space Storage

Recently had to move and opened a new storage unit with them as it would be cheaper having two units than one big one. I normally pay a year in advance to keep the excellent rate advertised online.

However when i went in today found out theyre only acceptable advanced pay of upto 6 months and they are adjusting one of my units from 27$ a month before renters insurance to $75.

They said they are allowed to do this based on the contracts signed at time of agreement which sounds good and all but it also states that they have to send written notice 30 days before change.

I never received written notice despite them saying they had to e “post” date as in december. Mind you because i had moved prior i had setup mail forwarding and activated the USPS mail subscription service so i could see the mail coming in for everyday so i dont miss things like this.
I never received this written notice.

The clerk (just doing her job was patient with me which was appreciated) said that it was the contract i had signed but did not show me physically where i had signed or the postal date of the notice. And had said that because the increased rate was still below normal rental standard she could not adjust lower. Before i left i asked if there was anywhere i could lodge a complaint to which i was replied a flat “no”

This all being said i am not upset with the clerk working today however i am heavily disappointed in the company as their recent changes and lack of proper communication make the recent effort to find affordable housing in winter that much more difficult. Especially given how more expensive the increase in price was.

We just uprooted our lives and moved to Monument. We haven’t secured housing so we needed a spacious unit to store our belongings in. The process of securing our unit was smooth and stress free. Our truck had no problem getting there and unloading and we have plenty of space to store as long as we need! Zoe Camp helped us in the office. She was incredibly friendly and helpful! For as stressful as moving can be, this process was delightfully straightforward and pleasant. Thank you!

Just rented my second unit with Extra Space and Zoe made the process quick and painless. They have been very helpful whenever needed. I reccomend Extra space if you are in need of storage solutions.

Linda was amazing, easy to deal with very knowledgeable and incredibly efficient, everything was quick and easy and they are great for Active duty and Veterans.

Zoe was very helpful. We left our unit untouched for two years and all was in perfect order when we returned to collect some of our things. The buildings are a bit tight for turning with a large vehicle and trailer but would recommend them.
