Extra Space Storage

Run away as fast as you can!!! These guys went in and doubled my rate for a 10x10 from $98 to $178 / month, WITHOUT NOTICE! The only reason I even saw it was from checking my credit card statements!

When I called them they said this is corporate policy. CORPORATE. 'look at the fine print in your lease agreement -we can change the rent whenever we want.' They said they 'complied with state law' by mailing a printed piece of mail to my home, which of course looks like junk mail, which they are counting on. No email. No notice in my log-in, no alert. They seem to be able to email me my monthly statements no problem, but not when they double my rent? Seems like a pretty clear scam to me.

In my experience when someone starts out by saying 'We complied with state law' they're running a scam and hoping the govenment doesn't notice.

Ugh, I'm so sad. Put in all that work to move everything in there. You can't do business with someone you can't trust. They offered to lower it by a few bucks a month, but when I asked, they said they would likely raise the rate again in the same manner without notice (except camouflaged junk mail).

Horrible experience. We rented here for two years. Over the two years they more than doubled the rate. Pulled all our stuff out the other day for a move and everything was covered in mice feces or mice nested. We’ve taken a loss of about a quarter of our things due to the mice infestation. Come to find out the storage unit insurance we got does not cover damage caused by rodents, Snapnsure. Extra Space won’t claim any responsibility either bc we didn’t insure with them. Zero accountability! After reading some of the most recent reviews it appears that this is common occurrence with them. Avoid this place at all costs.

Love Extra Space Storage. I’ve been with them for a while and they consistently make my experience a good one. Special thanks to Auggie and Brenda in assisting me with a special situation that we’ve been working on. And thanks to Craig who originally assisted me with getting the unit best for me.
So grateful for the kindness that has been shown. There has not been one employee that hasn’t been beyond professional and friendly. Not to forget that the site is always very clean and the hours to access are amazing.
