Mattie is great.
I’ve had multiple poor experiences with Extra Space Storage in Woods Cross, and I feel compelled to share them.
Locked in After Hours Incident
A while ago, I sold a flat-screen TV at my unit around 9:40 PM. I know the gate closes at 10 PM, but by the time we finished testing the TV and wrapping up the sale, it was 10:04 PM. When I entered my code to leave, the gate wouldn’t open. I called customer service, and their response was shocking—they told me we’d have to walk home. While I live nearby, the couple buying the TV was from Brigham City, which is much farther. Fortunately, I called the police department, and the officer was able to use an old code from before the property became Extra Space Storage to get the gate open. This experience was incredibly frustrating and unsafe, especially for paying tenants.
Trash Access Issues
Another ongoing issue is with throwing away trash. Tenants are expected to call the office to have the trash unlocked, but the process is incredibly inconvenient. On multiple occasions, I’ve had to wait over an hour just to get access to throw away simple items, like a small kitchen trash can. Today, I tried contacting the office to unlock the trash, only to get redirected to the Farmington location because the Woods Cross manager was on lunch break. Later, I received a text saying tenants are no longer allowed to use the trash cans at all, which is completely unreasonable given the monthly rent I pay.
I’ve rented from Extra Space Storage in Centerville in the past and never experienced these issues. The management at the Woods Cross location seems disorganized and indifferent to tenant needs. I expected much better for the premium prices they charge.
They were Great!?
