Extra Space Storage

This extra space storage is always so clean. Richard in the office is always so friendly and helpful.. When ever I buy an action from them it always goes so smoothly.

When I rented a space in September 24. After signing up and getting gate code/ unit details. I was Warned about the manager Mr Richard who is the facility manager. The gentleman signing me up told me he’s extremely mean and unprofessional, and will add unwarranted charges to your acct when he’s angry or doesn’t like a customer .
Today I went to the storage to address issues with my bill and I’m HAPPY to say things started really bumpy in my communication with Mr. Richard , but ended kindly and I’m so happy for a peaceful resolution/ending.
During the meeting this morning we went over my bill it was advised that it wasn’t illegal fees or unwarranted late fees but I received a rate increase that started in Jan. 2025.
I reminded Mr. Richard that I came in November to ask if or when a rate increase is coming please email me 30 days in advance because we sold our previous home and we currently don’t have a new home address for mail notifications also so I could prepare to vacate or prep for the extra charges., however I wasn’t emailed so I had no forewarning of the increase. Ms Richard advised “we all make mistakes sometimes” and of course he’s right… thanks for helping to make everything right Mr. Richard with the rate increase.

And I’m here to expose this storage facility. I advised Mr Richard in my 1st month that I would like to opt out of the storage insurance charge for the upcoming month because I have home renters insurance that covers my unit, however he charged my account anyway. I confronted him about the charge and he refused to remove it, He has charged illegal lean fees , late fees has locked me out of my unit and has threatened to auction my property all fees are illegally being placed on my account because he doesn’t like that I’ve confronted him surrounding storage rent fees , and other fees that are illegal.
Customers are unable to receive a copy of your lease contract, as Ive asked for it since sign up I was told it’s on my online account and there is no lease available online. WARNING TO CONSUMERS about Extra Space Storage, there has been several lawsuits filed against Extra Space Storage for these business practices. And I will continue to seek help until “Mr R” is accountable……and I been attempting to reach Corpoate but they don’t provide a contact number for help the numbers you call just reroute you back to your problem.

Teresa with Extra Space Storage made my day with her warm and friendly conversation. She was the on-site manager the day my husband and I were picking up items from our storage unit to prepare an upcoming listing.
