Family First Moving & Storage LLC

I never received the service I paid for, this company stole my $650 deposit. Ryan the owner said he would refund me $350 back but I never received it. They will give you a low estimate and when the actual movers contact you the price is completely different and not even close to what you were quoted. Also I scheduled for a certain date and they wasn’t able to accommodate that and by time they did have a date it was weeks later, by that time my furniture was transported by another company, I requested for my funds to be returned since I didn’t use the service, nor did I agree to the estimate that the movers provided, nor a date that was weeks later. I got totally scammed, if I could leave a 0 star I would.

My husband and I booked our move through this moving broker. While the staff we dealt with to plan the move were friendly and helpful, the only person who was consistently responsive to our calls was Laura. The company who actually picked up and delivered our belongings was AWFUL. The pick up team was friendly but still we were charged $400+ more than quoted when we had been assured the cubic footage was overestimated and we would not have to worry about the price going up. That was AFTER we took items off our inventory list and wound up moving them ourselves. They lost a lamp, broke a $400 piece of glass that was the top to my husband's office desk, as well as some dishes/bowls/glasses. The delivery crew chief was the absolute worst. They complained we had 'too many boxes', said they didn't want to bring a safe and a refrigerator up the stairs bc they were too heavy, and was just nasty and argumentative all the way around. When we called Family First to speak to ownership, they didn't even want to take our call, and had poor Laura call us back and tell us to file a claim with the insurance. We also had never been told they could hold our belongings for up to 21 days before delivery, we found that out the hard way when we were waiting on what we thought was our delivery date and the delivering company basically laughed at us. An awful experience for what is already stress enough. I expected so much more from a company who supposedly had a stellar reputation.

Very disappointment with the company, I told the agent from the begining I don't want any last minute surprises and its exactly what happened. They told me my moving with be in my new place by some specific date and is already 10 days after and I'm still waiting for my stuff. I made the arrangement with this company but another moving company came to pick up my stuff, and give me different delivery dates and increase the cost too. I called to Family 1st Moving and I talked with the 1st representative and then with another agent. I'm after a week I'm still waiting they call me back to let me know why the delivery and cost changed so dramatically. I have to moving my remainder stuff from my original state, but never, never using or call this company again. Very unprofessional, and irresponsible.

So, I spoke to Family First during my initial price-gathering stage and they were not the cheapest, but they weren't the most expensive either. They were however the most honest and dedicated people I spoke to. I decided to go with the cheaper company because I thought my wallet would hurt less. Lauren tried to explain to me that their prices were very accurate and that a lot of moving companies will try to jack up your rates at moving time. Lo and behold, on moving day, my price was jacked up about $2300 more than what the cheapest company said it would be. I called Lauren at Family First BAWLING because there was NO WAY I could afford to pay that much more. Lauren told me she could get a truck to me within the week that would take all my stuff and would get there within a few days. I was so incredibly stressed but Lauren took all that stress off my shoulders and helped me get my stuff moved - last minute, last resort, but best value. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone moving anywhere.
