WARNING!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND FIRST RATE MOVERS TO ANYONE, THEY HAVE A 4.8 STAR WHEN I CONTACTED THEM IN APRIL. EVERYONE WAS SO NICE IN THE BEGINNING RICK STEELE , BIANCA AND THE STAFF. THEY DON’T TELL YOU EVERYTHING, THEY PASS YOUR BELONGINGS OVER TO ANOTHER COMPANY CALLED ALWAYS AFFORDABLE MOVING AND STORAGE WHICH IS A 1.7 STAR THAT MAYBE TOO HIGH. THEY’RE HORRIBLE, YOU DON’T GET YOUR THINGS UNTIL WEEKS LATER, CUSTOMER SERVICE KEEPS QUOTING WE HAVE 30 DAYS, BUT WHEN THEY WAS TRYING TO GET YOUR BUSINESS IT WAS A DIFFERENT STORY. I LOOKED UP THE COMPANY THEY PASSED ME ON TOO AND READ THE HORRIBLE REVIEWS AND TRIED TO GET MY THINGS BACK THE NEXT DAY AND SOME OF THE MONEY, THEY REFUSED. THEY WOULD NOT BUDGE,FELT LIKE THEY WAS HOLDING MY THINGS HOSTAGE, BECAUSE THEY SAID I STILL OWE A BALANCE. THEY DIDN’T EVEN GO ANYWHERE YET. THIS IS WHAT MY THINGS LOOKED LIKE WHEN THEY ARRIVED. ALL BOXES THAT HAD FRAGILE WERE DAMAGED, CRUSHED. P.S DRIVER WASN’T GOING TO LET ME SEE SOME OF MY STUFF UNLESS HE WAS SURE HE WAS GETTING THE BALANCE. WARNING!!!THEY GO BY OTHER NAMES TOO

My stuff arrived on time, which was great and only my TV was broken. However, the contract I negotiated and signed with First Rate does not govern the actual move (as they claim). Instead, First Rate told me the contract of the actual movers governs the move and drop-off, whereas First Rate's governs the pickup only. I was charged $550 in additional fees at the drop-off and First Rate disclaimed responsibility for it and instead said I need to deal directly with the moving company they organized. This is an important aspect of the move that was not disclosed. The First Rate customer support team, while mostly very nice, is not proactive nor do they follow up after requested.

As a side note, I read the reviews on here before the move and understand that they are a relatively inexpensive mover and tend to overcharge after the initial estimate you get. When I received the QA inventory call (which was after the cancelation period for the move), they told me my initial estimate was not done correctly and increased the size of my move. Luckily, at that point, I had items I was going to discard so I was not charged more for the move because I removed items (and of course added a few more which is on me, but they were relatively small), but that's important to keep in mind before your move!

TL;DR: move was faster than expected, only a TV broke, First Rate disclaims any responsibility after pick-up occurs, and be mindful that you may be overcharged at drop-off for additional fees or pickup (based on the other reviews)

We have moved 4 times in the last 20 years. This is the only company that gave us a price &6800 and charged us $3000 more on moving date. Just be aware that this is not a company you want to move with as it's a true nightmare with First Rate Movers.

TLDR: You will want to consider another moving company. My move from Mississippi to Utah back in June was pretty much a disaster, and I finally had time to leave a review. I wouldn't even recommend these guys to my worst enemy.

So, right off the bat, they hit me with a change in the pick-up date, which was supposed to be early June. They said they needed to reschedule it to late June (which would be too late) or the day after the phone call (they claimed there was a truck in the area). I had to shuffle my plans around, only to have them pull the same stunt while I was already on my way back. Unfortunately, I had a flight to catch, so I ended up having to get by in Utah without my stuff for two weeks.

Now, the real kicker was how my belongings arrived. Despite them saying my load was too small for a studio move, they took it anyway and stuffed the truck as much as they could. You can see how my mattress got folded in half and never recovered. Sleeping on it was never the same, so I had to buy a new one.
