First Rate Movers

A scam in so many ways. Do not use this company. I don't care what they post below my comment. Don't use them. We lost 2k in deposit and when they tried to increase our moving price by 4 THOUSAND dollars. We had no choice but to cancel. Lucky for their cancelation policy, no refunds after deposit after 72 hours. But they don't do a quality assurance call until 3 days before you move. Find someone else. They will not give us our money back. I ended up having to do everything myself with a 3 month old baby and three year old. Don't use them. Don't walk... RUN away from this company.

First call I listed EVERYTHING needing to be moved but whoever I talked to did not put sizes on the boxes already packed so they weren't accounted for. I originally requested a full pack service.

To save on costs, I decided to pack everything myself hoping to save money. But go figure, the box sizes weren't accounted for and when I spoke with quality assurance 3 days before moving, they increased the space needed. Had we known the price would be 12k on day 1, we would have NEVER placed a deposit. At that point it was too late to get my money back. Whoever took my cancelation request, never pushed it through so the carrier headed our way. Total nightmare.

When I fought hard to get my refund, they blamed ME, the customer, when the entire time I tried to do the right thing. Notes were not documented on accurate days. And I still haven't heard back from billing a week later about my request for a refund. I have zero calls the day they said I confirmed the moving date... phone records and all but they still say I confirmed it AFTER I requested cancelation.

The best they can do is offer a credit... maybe. For a state to state moving company, when would I ever need that again?

The whole thing is a total joke and scam. We'll never see a penny from the money we spent for them to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!

The staff did a great job with the moving. Nothing was broken and there were no additional fees because we did everything in 2 days. I will definitely use it again if needed.

The driver who transported my belongings arrived on time and took care of my belongings. I recommend this company. Manager was also brilliant. Thank you!

The manager and movers gave me a very flexible moving plan and their payment system was simple and transparent. Their services are really good.

Do not use these movers. This company will steal your money and then twist things around like they went out of their way to try to make things right. They just want your money. Even if you cancel the move they will keep your deposit and then not have to move any of your things so they almost make out more by people being unhappy and cancelling.

My move was scheduled by a third party that led me to believe that the people I talked to on the phone worked directly with the moving company. They quoted me a reasonable price initially then raised the price by $2500 2 days before the move (which contract states cannot be cancelled at that time) stating that I changed the information I had given them during the first call. My things were in a storage unit. A 10x10 and a 5x10 roughly 80 percent full top to bottom. I was specific from the beginning and was already unhappy with the change in price.

Then they arrived to move my things and the movers had no idea what the move consisted of, had plans to just move my stuff into one of their holding units and had no idea how long it would be there and said that’s typical for the company to tell people something over the phone that does not match actual expectations when they arrive. Upon arriving they upped the price again by another $2000 saying my things would need 1600 cubic ft of storage ( original amount discussed was 1000-1200 cubic ft) I canceled at this time because the price was double the original quote. They refused to refund my $3000 deposit. I ended up moving my things in a 1000 cubic ft truck.

This company steals money from people and leads them to believe false information. I don’t know how they are still in business and don’t have a class action lawsuit against them.
