THIS COMPANY IS RUN BY CROOKS who are also liars. They quoted a low rate up front and two days before the move the price more than doubled. they said we had 30% more stuff and that translated into double the original cost. When we questioned the significant increase in charges the guy said we could find another company or get rid of some stuff so we would be moving the amount that was originally quoted. They promised a crew of 3 but only 2 showed up to load and the head mover was incredibly rude, disrespectful, and condescending. 10 days later, the stuff was delivered. It had been sitting in a warehouse for several days and arrived on a different truck. There was only one person on the delivery truck to unload everything and he was given the wrong address for delivery , so the driver was late. This poor man had to unload everything by himself. Not only do they treat their customers poorly but they also treat their drivers like garbage. There is nothing good I can say about this company or our experience and I would encourage you to STEER CLEAR unless you are up for getting totally ripped off.

8/3 Response to the owners comments. Every bit of the owners response is a lie. There is not one accurate point in the response which continues to show the lack of character and ethics of this company.

USE ANY OTHER COMPANY UNLESS WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF.

Update: In response to the business' reply: They are lying. They make all sorts of promises during the booking phone call. I was told because drivers would not have to worry about winter weather, the truck would arrive within 3-10 business days. They set expectations over the phone; however, they are being dishonest. Furthermore, the man who booked my move stressed they did not use outside companies because outside companies do not guarantee a delivery timeframe like they do. He made it a point to say this to differentiate the company from other moving companies. I had to file a police report for stolen goods and then finally received the delivery within two days. The company they contracted with, MAP Moving & Storage out of Hollywood, FL is awful. They damaged multiple pieces of furniture and Evans was a con artist trying to shake me down for more money (didn't happen). Stay away from First Rate Movers and MAP.

This company deserves 0 stars. Much like the other bad reviews, mine is similar. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY (Mission Moving LLC doing business as First Rate Movers in FL). They lied about everything and quoted a delivery time frame of 3-10 days up until the day they arrived to load my belongings. The time frame increased every time I called. They contracted with MAP Moving and Storage out of Hollywood, FL. The MAP mover, Evans, tried to charge me an additional $2000+ for the move. I refused and he untaped everything, threatened not to do the job and walked out. I called First Rate Movers who got his supervisor on the phone. After 1 hour, Evans and his coworker came back in and did the job after he was told to do it for the quoted price, yet charged me an additional $43 because there were 8 more stairs than 10. Evans was a liar, extremely rude, and tried to bully me into paying more money. He attempted to charge me for 'bulky' items. A sectional was estimated by First Rate to take up 110 cubic feet. Before Evans knew this, he said it would cost more because he measured it at 100 cubic feet. When I called him on his lie, he got angry. Later the next week after the move, I received a suspicious call from a man identifying himself as being from the electric company. He threatened that my electricity would be turned off if I didn't make a payment. I called the electric company who confirmed it was a scam that has been happening to other customers. The only person who had access to my information was the individual from this moving company and my suspicion is that he provides customer phone numbers and information to scammers.

First Rate Movers doesn't tell you they contract the job to other companies, nor do they give you an accurate delivery time frame, or dollar estimate. It is now day 10 and my items haven't arrived after being told last week they would be here Monday at the latest. Their latest lie was the drivers had a delay due to rain in Florida. My belongings were being transported from a state that didn't require the movers to drive anywhere near Florida to get to the destination state. Now they're giving me no time frame when my items will arrive.

I've since filed a police report for stolen property, as I have no idea where my items are. Any missing items are not lost but will be considered stolen. I had no agreement to have my belongings stored in a storage facility, or to be moved from one truck to another. Do not hire First Rate Movers or Map Moving and Storage, as they are incompetent at best and thieves at worst.

First rate movers contracted our long distance move to a moving company that was horrible and damaged our furniture by transferring it to another moving truck in the rain and our belongings were damaged. We will never use them and hope other people will not go through this. They lied to us about the move and the delivery.
