We just moved into the area as a military family. I was in line at the grocery store complaining to the cashier about not having enough space to hold anything in our apartment because our housing is ready as of yet. This very nice lady in line behind me said that she was the property manager for a storage facility and would love to help. We made an appointment right there on the spot. Aislinn really has knack for helping others. Thank you so much for showing the new kids some kindness!

I wrote a couple very negative reviews about the late fee charges I received when I paid my bill on Monday, December 5th. Today is December 11th, one week later. Management contacted me and the $40 late fee has been refunded. I absolutely appreciate the gesture. Going through chemotherapy is not easy and extremely costly. Every penny counts.
What I've learned here I guess is how to get through to a corporation that has forgotten what customer service is all about. This country has almost completely lost its ability to identify with the customer. The corporate takeover of this country is destroying it. I realize that if I hadn't written negative reviews, I would have never gotten any refund so I hope we all learned the same lesson here. Thank you Gateway...
I’ve rented at Columbia Illinois location for over 12 years and never had an issue or complaint until a few years ago when they sold to current owner. Previous owners were friendly, prices were reasonable and facility was well cared for. Since sale, they’ve raised prices 3 times-nearly double the cost. The last straw for me was a new mandate that I buy insurance from them to cover contents of my unit or provide them with proof of insurance. Who do they think they are? When I called to discuss the latest price insurance related increase, the EXTREMELY rude person on the phone told me I should just go elsewhere. I said no problem, consider this your notice I’m moving out (I was already paid through the month and had a couple weeks left). She said, no I need to call back later to let them know I’m moving out. I said, I will not be calling back because I’m letting you know right now (why would I want to talk to her again). Later, I did call back to leave a voicemail with the “Facility Manager” that I was moving out. If you are looking for a storage unit, keep looking and do NOT rent from this company.
Also, after reading the previous review I notified my bank to stop future payments from Gateway Storage as to prevent them from charging me after moving out-as they did him.
