Horrible company, never use it
Honestly, I wish that I could give 0 stars: 1 star is too generous. Overall terrible experience. Currently in the middle of filing a claim because they lost items and customer service won't respond to me. Below are the issues in summary I've had with them.
- Booked pickup date for the wrong month
- Once contract was signed original sales rep would no longer respond to any communication (email, phone, etc.)
- Once drivers arrived for pickup they had ambiguous contractual additives...BUT they told me if I paid the drivers in cash they wouldn't put it on the contract (additional $600)
- Company claims to not be a broker, but they used brokers for delivery
- Lost items (this is my biggest frustration), the delivery driver told me he saw one of my missing boxes at the origin warehouse (and for some reason open), and to reach out to customer service. I reached out to customer service who has been terrible to deal with the whole time by the way, and he has been almost entirely unresponsive, saying he would send a photo of the missing box in question, but won't answer about the other missing items. After a week of asking for him to follow through sending the photo, I've decided to just file a claim - see attached screen shots for fantastic customer service representation
CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY
We are very disappointed! We thought they were so good at first and were on the pick up, but then....
I have been trying to line up my delivery of my furniture for over two weeks and cannot get anyone to give me a date or approximate time. The guys who picked up our furniture were great, with the exception of some very high unexpected charges. But prior to 21 days of 35 days of free storage, 2 1/2 weeks ago I have not been able to get a solid commitment or schedule of delivery of my furniture that was suppose to be on a truck two days ago, traveling from Dallas, Texas to Pineville, La. They called me while I was on vacation and told me they were going to deliver it on Sunday morning and I said it’s no way I can be there Sunday. So they called me back and said, Monday morning. So we hurried and packed up, cutting our vacation two days short, and arrived home late Sunday night to be here for a Monday morning delivery. No delivery! We called, text, emailed, no response. Then finally a man calls and said the driver would be leaving Dallas the next morning, Tuesday with our furniture and would call me as soon as he got in the truck to leave Dallas. No call, no delivery, no communication from Gathright at all! I finally got a hold of Ann in Customer Service, same lady who called me on the beach, she said she would find out what was going on and call me right back and NEVER did. So now we’re waiting to see what happens tomorrow. Will update tomorrow! I hope it will be good!
First: these people RUINED my 1924 Steinway piano! While I was questioning the mover about his expertise in moving a piano he got angry. He was about to leave the premises when I found 2 essential pieces that belonged to the piano! This ineptitude followed on the heels of three weeks of waiting and no answer.
Liars and thieves. They were not the actual carrier because they sent another company to move us and they raised the price $3,000 after they had the truck loaded. They showed up 2 days late and it was nearly impossible to reach anyone to find out what was going on. I have moved several times for work and even moved overseas and by far this was the worst experience I ever had. It was stressful and my anxiety was really off the charts. I had to drive 2,000 miles in 2 days because they were late picking up our furniture. They also charged for everything they considered extra like packing tape even though we had everything boxed and ready to go. The tape was used to hold the furniture blankets in place and they did take the glass tops off our end tables. When they arrived they didn’t reassemble anything but the beds even though they disassembled several items. I spent hours reassembling tables, desks and other items.
