Thumbs down negative stars all of that! Do not use this company if you VALUE any of your items/ furniture now where to begin. When they moved our stuff out of the first apartment the mover rolled our big leather chair out the door and hit the wall in doing so instead of lifting it. It’s a nightmare to track the whereabouts! Our stuff sat in the original state we moved from for three weeks after they picked it up from the apartment before the loaded it on a truck to drive to the destination. Calling to ask about a status is a nightmare you could reach the president fast and easier. A lot of I don’t knows and they just give you numbers to try and call, but no one answers. When we finally reach a number for the driver he didn’t even know his own name or the location as to where he was heading to take the stuff he asked us what state and for the address. When they arrived they arrived at 6:30 in the morning on Sunday no warning what so ever. The driver parked down the street we told him of an easier access location and he said he didn’t feel like moving the truck. The movers act like the can’t read all boxes that were labeled “fragile” or “this side up” were sitting every kind of way and the boxes were damaged. The driver watched us open one of said boxes as we checked to see if they were broken and said “oh you’re lucky”. Then proceeded to ask about the rent around the area and asked if we “had any more money for him. Due to his laziness with the truck and not wanting to move it closer threaten to charge a walking fee. So again if you are looking for a mover YOU FOUND THE WRONG ONE!

I would NOT recommend this company at all. I had to push 1 star, just to be able to leave a review. I scheduled my move over a month out last week. I received a call late 2 nights ago, my brother is in the hospital and probably has 2 -3 weeks to live. I needed to cancel my move because I need to handle family affairs for a undertermined amount of time. I tried to call 5x yesterday, which was a holiday. I could not reach anyone, and the call would drop when I tried to leave a message, so I emailed them to explain my situation, and try to get my $480.00 deposit back. I saw there was no refund, even with this family emergency on the contract, if canceled after 3 days. I tried to plea with them because 480.00 is a lot of money to me. I even asked for half. They wouldn't even do that! I asked to talk with a supervisor, and they wouldn't let me talk to them. I understand this is their business, but no heart, and all they care about is their money. 0 stars.

I do not even want to give them one star! unprofessional, late delivery. Drivers are not worth the ground I walk on. It will be the lowest quote you get for a moving company, but wait, they'll try and force you to do a shuttle service which will be a heck of a lot more. they'll charge you for every step they have to take. With all of that said, that's not even the worst part. My delivery was unreasonably late and was damaged. Oh wait, there's more! Would you like your most precious items to go 'missing?' Let's just state that there is $10k worth of stuff missing from my move and it has been three weeks and somehow they have not been able to locate it in the wearhouse! So, if this sounds like something you'd like to go through while moving your entire life across country then sign up for a move with Gathright Van & Storage!!!!

If you're reading this and you work for them, I hope you lose sleep at night knowing you work for a company that does this to their customers.

It started when they tried to double the price when they picked up my belongings and I wasn't having it so I removed a large couch from the items moving to keep things at the same price.

Then they continued to delay the drop off of my belongings.

I finally get my belongings a week after the window and there are 2 boxes missing. I tell the guys that dropped off my belongings there are 2 boxes missing and they reply 'we only ever got 9, there is nothing we can do.'

So I call customer service and they continue to give me the run around(starting in late April). Eventually they have me file a claim and they determine that they owe me nothing for my belongings(shocker; crooks don't take responsibility for losing my boxes). It's now July 1st when I get a decision. Please do not ever use this company. They deliberately lowball prices to get you in and then change it once they arrive because they know people are in a rush and likely will go with it, they will show up before or after your window and then charge you if you can't make the new time happen, then they will lose or steal your items, and act as if it was not their fault.

Complete scum bag company that lies about BBB rating when they don't even have one.

My husband and I unfortunately hired this company for our move from CA to TX. I had initially planned to ship a full size bed, and later changed it to a queen. Eventually we decided not to take it. I can submit proof that the “binding estimate” that originally included a bed was the same amount as when we removed the bed from our inventory list. They charge per cubic foot, and yet the price stayed the same. We had been told when our items were picked up that delivery would take 2-3 weeks to arrive. We had to call and email more than half a dozen times to get an update after that deadline was missed, and my emails to the company were sent back as “spam” which I assumed because the company did not want to deal with it. At the end of the third week of waiting, we were finally given the name and phone number of the driver that was transporting our things to a warehouse in Dallas. We spoke to him (his name is Billy) and he explicitly said he would only be taking our shipment as far as Dallas and the company would be sending another driver with “a smaller truck” to deliver our items to our home. Days later, we were told yet again that Billy would be delivering our things, to which I recommended they contact him as he had said otherwise. Last Friday, I received a call stating our things would be delivered that weekend, and yet still have not arrived a week later. Yesterday my husband and I were contacted by the moving company, and told we would be required to pay the fee for a smaller truck to be used—even though as Billy understood it they had already needed to use one through no fault of our own. I contacted my apartment office and they stated they can’t allow large trucks to block parking spaces so neither the shuttle they charge for nor the 18-wheeler they “might” need to use will be able to place itself anywhere that isn’t bothersome to the residents of the complex. However, a representative for my complex’s rental office did say they could open a more accessible gate so that our things may be brought in by dolly from the street, about 200ft from my door. I called the company and told them that the only option was a “Long Carry” delivery over 75ft & stated I accept the whatever charges are necessary to accommodate those restrictions. The customer service representative agreed to speak to their dispatcher and let them know, and assured me I’d receive a call before the end of the day yesterday. I did not receive a call. I called this morning and didn’t get through. After a short while they called me and said again Billy would be delivering our things and it’s not their job to speak to the drivers or dispatchers about our requests, only to answer general questions. Frustrated, I got myself in touch with Billy and he confirmed he unloaded our things last week at the warehouse in Dallas and he went out of his way to call David in the Dallas warehouse. David confirmed to Billy our things were loaded onto a smaller truck this morning. It seems no matter what we did or how my complex’s rental office tried to facilitate the delivery, the moving company fully intended to charge us for the shuttle service. This is unclear as it is listed on the contract as “395 min. or $1.50 per cf whichever is greater” and I’m not sure what that entails. There’s only one dollar amount listed there. All in all, this has been an extremely stressful experience. The company absolutely lacked communication and had no customer service capabilities whatsoever. The customer service representative during the call this morning literally said “I don’t call them you can call the driver since it’s your request” with a less-than-graceful tone. Also, we had also been told our total balance due would be $72.04 and later my husband called to confirm and was told $572.04. If this were the case, and he hadn’t called, we would’ve been expected to pay much more than anticipated and more than likely charged a “waiting fee” or a “redelivery fee” because of their miscommunication and inconsistency. The whole company lacks ethics.
