Genes Furniture & Moving

We used Genes Furniture and Moving this week. The three workers were polite, hard workers. They got two truckloads moved 10 miles in 6 hours. Thank you for the great experience.

We were moving our furniture from our home to storage for a month and then to our new house. We wanted to stay local so we hired Gene's furniture. On moving day out of the house 3 workers and a truck showed up It took 5 plus hours . (including multiple smoke breaks) to move across town to a storage unit. They damaged a few pieces of furniture, tore one box spring, and smashed 1 of 6 decorative light fixture outside, I had to replace all 6 because that style is no longer made. They also damaged some of the beautiful woodwork in the house. Then the workers denied all of it, even though my wife watched them do it. the manager later agreed to take the cost off the bill for the second move. On the day of the move from the storage unit to our new house I got a call from one of the movers 2 hours prior to the agreed upon start time telling me that they did not want to do the job. I called the manager of Gene's and was told that the workers did not want to come, and he was not going to make them. We hired Peak Movers from Wausau. Two men and a truck showed up it took 6 hours including the drive from Wausau to move our furniture 9 miles from storage to our new house. We had no damage. The bill was almost $200 less for the second move. I will never use Gene's Furniture to move again.

Smaller than others big name stores, but great service.

Very good furniture. We've bought many pieces.
