Javier (same guy from the 2019 move), Amal, and Octavian just completed a move for me.

Good afternoon,

I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to your company. You were able to fit me in the schedule very quickly and, for me, painlessly.

I have had experience with moving companies numerous times through my many years in the military. I have to aay this move was notably above the rest. I would like to take the time to share my experience about the three men that came to move my household goods; Elmer, Javier, and Nathan. Please feel free to share this 'review' as I plan to post it to Google, Yelp, and wherever else I can find.

Initial impression: I was given an arrival time of between 8-830am. Elmer called about 15 minutes before arriving as a courtesy to let me know; they arrived right at 8am. I walked out to meet them and was quickly introduced to all three men. They all presented with a neat appearance, pleasant demeanor, and professionally respectful introduction; firm hand shake, eye contact, and let me steer the pace a bit. The vehicle itself appeared to be well maintained as there were no peeling graphics or paint; it was also very clean in the cargo area and the outside had obviously been recently washed.

Beginning the work: After a walkthrough of the premises, for orientation and assessment, Elmer went over the intial pre-move documents. He explained them succinctly and answered any questions that came up, highlighting any areas that may have been cause for extra care or caution. They all three pitched in to bring in packing supplies.

During the work: Immediately I can see that these three know the benefit of teamwork. They have either worked together before or already laid a plan out before arriving as there was no discussion on who was going to do what. This was made clear as I had already packed a few things in plastic totes; Javier immediately started taking them out to the truck, Nathan moved to the Master Bed/Bath to begin packing, and Elmer started in on the kitchen. By this time it is perhaps 820am.

When a box was packed, it was carried to the truck; that Javier is a machine! Elmer was packing like a speed demon in the kitchen, and Nathan was setting speed records packing the bedroom. Meanwhile, I'm sitting here watching the rooms empty at an astonishing rate, did I mention these guys worked quickly and efficiently? Granted, I had packed many items in totes already and left the more fragile items to the professionals. Even so, it would have taken me easily 8 hours to pack the remainder of items. From the time they arrived to the time they pulled away was around 2.5 hours, maybe less as I wasn't paying that much attention to my watch.

Completing the work: It was a 30 or so minute drive to the new place, so we all got here around 11am. Upon arrival we did another walkthrough to orient them on what rooms were where. Fortunately parking isn't an issue here and they were able to back the truck up right in front of the new place. They opened the truck up and proceeded to unload the contents into the house. About 45 minutes later they are done.

While Javier and Nathan were packing up the supplies, picking up odds and ends and closing the truck, Elmer and I went over the final paperwork and payment. Due to their efficient teamwork and diligence the bill actually came in UNDER the MINIMUM quoted by about $100.

Summary: The entire time, all three men acted in a manner that was above reproach. They were all extremely professional, polite, very well mannered, and in no way did I ever have the slightest doubt that my household goods were in good hands; something I cant say about the majority of movers that I've had experience with.

If you want a top notch, best bang for your buck, professional crew to move your household goods, Gentle Giant Movers is the way to go!

After 15 years of moving in the military, I can safely say that Gentle Giant is the best moving company out there. I received an initial walk-through estimate which was realistic, provided helpful tips on how to prepare my household goods for moving, and offered a variety of options (not just the most expensive). The consultant mentioned that the company prides themselves on having fit, energetic movers, and he wasn't kidding. The moving team were all in great shape, had very positive attitudes, and they run from the truck to the house to save on labor costs (based on time)! One of the movers, who had worked previously with one of the big international brands, said it's because they are taken care of as employees, and it shows.

For military: Use Gentle Giant for a full PPM (previously called DITY). They offer a military discount, and will provide all the necessary weight tickets. You will undoubtedly come out on top working with this company.
