I recently hired Gerber Moving Company for my recent move, and I couldn't be more satisfied. From start to finish, their professionalism and efficiency stood out. The team arrived on time, worked diligently, and handled my belongings with great care.

They took the time to wrap and protect my furniture, ensuring everything arrived at my new home without a scratch. Communication was excellent throughout the process.

I highly recommend Gerber Moving Company to anyone looking for a reliable and stress-free moving experience. They truly made what can be a daunting task much easier!

Review:

I've used this company twice (one was not by choice), and unfortunately each time the people coming into my home have been very unprofessional. They were talking about me while they worked and I was only a few feet away from them and could heard them, but they didn't seem to care. Very disrespectful. They also put all of their tools on top of my satin bench, which of course ended up scratching it. Do yourself a favor and look for another company, this company is very disappointing and unprofessional.

Review:

I've used this company 3 times total. The company is now under new ownership, with Sierra as the new owner. We paid a significant additional amount for Full Replacement Value Protection and when multiple items were damaged/missing, Sierra flat out told me I was 'lying' and proceeded to patronize me by referring to our damages list as a 'Fairytale of List' (on our 1st call!). We provided photos of the items on moving day, still in boxes or as they were being unwrapped by movers in our new home. She said I was lying about them borrowing/keeping our dolly, stating they have their own dolly's; only to later have her tell me they do in fact have our dolly (no apology or reimbursement). She also said I was lying about having used Gerber 2 times previously, until I forwarded her the emails from Gerber, to which no apology was made, she just said they had our name spelled wrong in the system. We never claimed any damages on the previous 2 moves. It's now been over 3 months since our move date, and we still have no resolution. She's said she's submitting it to her insurance, but refuses to provide the insurance info or claim #. She told us they needed a 2nd furniture repair company to bid the repairs as the 1st wasn't an approved vendor by their insurance, only to later have her state they're going w/the 1st since they're cheaper and that she will be mailing a check and going through the bids to determine what else she'll cover. When we stated we'd prefer to get the money paid to us direct, to choose our own vendor and expressed we'll likely be refinishing items for a greater price, she refuses and says she will only pay her chosen repair company direct for 'repairs' only. She's said in emails that she's mailing a check 'tomorrow' but when we ask how much its for or what items it's covering, she refuses to answer. No check has been mailed. It seems that Sierra/Gerber charges consumers for Full Replacement Value Protection, but do not actually provide this if needed later and in this Protection that's paid for by customers, Sierra is the judge/jury and nothing is actually submitted to insurance. Her husband and sister were 2 of the packers that packed our home and several other family members that loaded the truck on moving day; which is likely where the defensiveness and accusations of us being liars comes from. It's sad that a company w/such great reviews, for many decades, now has such an ego driven hateful owner to destroy their good family name. I have referred Gerber to so many friends and family over the years... Never again!
We had lamp shades packed in boxes w/heavy books. A Rachel Ray olive oil dispenser full of oil packed, laying on its side, that spilled oil through multiple boxes and onto multiple items. Sierra said this was pre-existing. Boxsprings weren't wrapped and got destroyed. Heavy items stacked on wood furniture that split, broke, destroyed the wood. They seemingly kept our dolly and ladder. Destroyed priceless family keepsakes from deceased family member. The lack of care w/the items packed was remarkable. However, the lack of professionalism and legal responsibility after is astonishing and has me quite regretful that I didn't obtain other quotes, as my previous experiences were so good I couldn't fathom using anyone else. I had no idea ownership had changed and the quality would suffer so severely. Sierra even stated on a call w/me that the fact that we purchased Full Replacement Value Protection for the amount we did, should've been a red flag and they should've never provided the quote or agreed to move us. (WHAT?!?!) She was VERY rude to my husband on the unloading day when he called the main line about many items we were seeing damaged. She cussed @ me on our first call but when I cussed back she got upset and called me out for cussing. (The irony!) She has multiple family members working in the biz and they are all vocal about the fact that they're related to the owner. It's a shame they don't take the same pride in their work efforts. Just use someone else.
