Great company!! Jake & Patti are the best.

My wife and I met Jake and Patti through mutual friends at The Larson Street Bocce Club, near Manasota Beach. Both Jake and Patti are excellent at Bocce, and cook a mean brisket, but that’s not why I’m writing.

Last year was tough on all of us because of the hurricanes. People were really hurting and scared. By the time Milton was on the way, Jake and Patti identified a need from his customer base and way beyond. They were inundated with requests from his clients to help friends and family with putting up storm shutters, mounting plywood, and general labor involving securing homes prior to the storm. Word of mouth, together with their stellar moving company reputation resulted in an overwhelming number of requests from dozens of elderly, and older people who needed help. They were desperate! There were so many requests for help, so Jake asked me and my wife to help them. He has a very large crew but he needed more workers. Jake said, “How can I say no? These people are part of my community!” So of course we told Jake we would help and learned that he and Patti had pivoted from their normal moving activities toward helping and assisting local homeowners prepare their homes for the storm. For three days prior to the storm, and right up to when the first band of winds arrived, Jake and his entire crew worked on dozens of homes in the area. We met so many people and homeowners who were terrified. Not only did they need labor to perform the work, they needed reassurance that everything would be okay. Jake was so kind and thoughtful. They needed help ranging from mounting shutters to moving generators, and furniture from the lanai to inside the home. There was no task he refused. In one case, a home owner had ordered plywood, but she had no way to have it delivered so Jake used his personal truck. What ever task was needed he performed.

It was an honor to work with Jake and his crew. They were professional, timely, courteous, respectful, and kind. Jake and Patti and his crew were a blessing to these people. I will never forget those days, and I’m sure the people he helped won’t either.

I have never used Get It Gone as a moving company but they have a great reputation. The organization is solid, honest, and well run. If you need moving services, look no further. Give Jake and Patti a call and you won’t go wrong!

There are not enough positive words that fully describe how well our move went with Get It Gone. Starting with Patti, she was responsive, organized and helped us figure out the best way to organize the moving of goods. The day of the move we received a text announcing they’d arrive earlier than expected which was great for both parties. The professional and friendly crew, Matt, Merv and John, had everything needed including protective covers etc. AND they helped troubleshoot a small dilemma on the receiving end, at no additional charge. HIGHLY recommend this company. They know their stuff and they hire incredibly capable people to Get It Gone right!
