GOODVIEW MOVING AND STORAGE

These people were fantastic! Moving often takes a bit longer than anticipated, but the crew from GOODVIEW MOVING AND STORAGE managed to finish with minimal damage to my possessions. I called Tower since I was so pleased with the service.

This was the easiest and most pleasant relocation I've ever had to deal with. The staff was attentive to my specific needs, friendly, and quick to resolve any problems that arose.

FRAUDULENT COMPANY, DO NOT HIRE. I would give zero stars if I could. First of all, this is the same company as Fast Transportation, LLC. Do not be fooled by a name change. They hook you with a good estimated price and then falsely inflate your quote when you're ready to move.

We initially booked because the quote was the cheapest and the customer service agent was responsive and assured us that they are a carrier who does not contract out to other companies. The cubic feet estimate was very similar to other companies, 555 cubic feet. We did an initial quote with her and inventoried our whole apartment.

Upon pickup, we were immediately informed by the driver that we had more stuff than quoted and needed to pay more because it would take up more cubic feet in the truck. He told us it was because of the king size bed, large furniture, etc. even though ALL of these items were on the inventory list. We went back and forth with him about this, because our original quote included all of our items and we only added about 5 more boxes to the inventory on the day of pickup. He insisted it would take more space due to how the furniture would stack. He pretended like he was helping us out, but inflated the price for his own gain. The new estimate came out to 1200 cubic feet, over DOUBLE the estimate. To be clear, to underestimate the initial quote by that much is a fraudulent practice under Dep. of Transportation guidelines. Plus, we definitely DID NOT have 1200 cubic feet worth of stuff.

After arguing, he then told us we would need the new payment amount, again almost THREE TIMES what we originally thought, in cash. It was a Sunday. We fought with him over this because we had told the customer service rep on the phone that we would be paying via credit card. He insisted it was fine, we could just get thousands of dollars in cash from an ATM. I'm pretty sure this man doesn't understand how ATMs work. We finally settled on a lower amount in cash.

They also did not inventory before loading the truck, ensuring that all of our things would be together and it would be fine. It was completely unprofessional and we lost items along the move.

After pick up, we spoke with the customer service representative again who said she would try to get a discount or work on things. She never did. We called incessantly to lower the third payment we would need to make and she barely answered and when she did, she clearly hadn't worked on getting any resolution for us.

We received a call that we would be receiving our things in less than 24 hours and needed to be ready to make the final payment. We insisted upon a discount and she only got us $300 off, when we were owed thousands of dollars by this company. We were threatened that they would leave with our stuff if we did not pay the final amount and would charge a higher redelivery fee if that was the case.

Our stuff was to be delivered to a storage unit of 1200 cubic feet. Upon delivery, we discovered exactly what we had known, our stuff did not come close to filling 1200 cubic feet, even when poorly stacked. Two independent movers confirmed our stuff was about 500 cubic feet total. Our boxes were crushed, items were broken and lost, and the movers were careless as they put it in the storage unit. There was plenty of space in the storage unit after loading it, even though everything was thrown in, and even more room after I organized it and properly stacked everything.

Again, we contacted Fast Transportation without any response. We made a claim through DOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. We have not had any resolution and probably will not because this company just steals your money and preys on people at a stressful time. DO NOT believe the 4.7 google review.
