Green Truck Movers

TLDR: Beware of Lofton King and this entire moving company in general. Spent $1k to move my 1B1B apartment.

My previous moving company canceled on me last minute and I needed another one ASAP. Lofton handled my request stating he had an available team to move me out of my 1B1B apartment. As they were on their way, I paid Lofton’s personal Zelle $159. A fee he told me covered the cost of all distance during my move (no more than 10 miles for me…) Due to the time crunch and my storage unit closing soon that day, I was told that they could store my items in their truck overnight, a $60 holding fee… fair. I never met face to face with Lofton, but his movers were extremely kind and said they could meet me to unload at a time during my work break to unload… I get a call the next morning around 7am from Lofton asking if I was at the location to unload, despite the movers and I agreeing they would come around 11. There was always a high degree of miscommunication between Lofton and the movers.

The same movers once again were nice and efficient with moving in my items. However, Lofton calls one of the movers in the middle of the unloading and says that they have to do a “buy out” before they finish unloading my items. I am then presented with a nearly $800 bill. Lofton BS’d a breakdown of the bill - NEVER sending me an invoice - about how “my time starts when the guys leave the warehouse, traffic or not”…When I asked about the purpose of the $159 I paid the day prior, I’m told “that was just for my guys to come out” (okay, huh??) …with half my items still on the truck, I had no option but to give them my credit card info.

The movers completed their job 15-30 minutes over the allotted time, prompting Lofton to call back and coerce us to pay an ADDITIONAL $64. (Reminder, 1B1B apartment!!!) I asked for payment options as I’ve already spent nearly $1000 within the last 24h. Lofton added a lady to the line who sheepishly requested that I pay through CashApp or Venmo as they don’t do installments. Lofton then went on to threaten to call the POLICE on me if I didn’t pay an additional $64. The movers left politely, disagreeing with the policy. Obviously Lofton didn’t go through with involving the police because he knows he’s crooked and has provided no contract or medium to validate his insensitive demands. Who charges $1k to move a 1B1B apartment 8 miles?? Trash, money-hungry companies.

This company moved me and did a terrible job, which includes damaging my furniture. This company charged over $1000.00 and did not move everything out of the house. Very confrontational when calling and reporting durning the move in it self. Never heard back from them to start the claim. ????

Tony and Marquis were excellent, efficient, and super kind + professional and delicate with our belongings. We waited until a day before our big move to schedule movers and they came thru for us and we are so grateful! 10/10 :)

First off they are scams! They purposely move one piece of furniture at a time to run your time up. I had a very small move that shouldn’t have taken more than the time I requested. None the less the movers chose to move the furniture very slow to maximize and go over the time frame. I began to help them and started taking furniture to the elevator so they could take it down and load it. Even with me doing this they still left my barstools by the elevator which allowed someone to come by and take them. During the final checkout the supervisor tried to over charge me even more by rounding my time up an additional 15 minutes. During booking I was told there was a 2 hour minimum and after that I would be charged in 15 min increments. The supervisor tried to bill me for 3 hours vs 2.75 hours. When I called to speak with him he was very aggressive and not resolutional. He texted my phone saying things such as my mother should have spent more time with me, I’m a scam artist etc. not one time did he try to compromise for the issues I told him about. I would not recommend anyone hire this moving company. If I could give them a 0 star rating I would.

Do NOT use!! Multiple pieces of furniture have horrible scratches and gouges. They scratched my newly redone hardwood floor in multiple deep places. They dropped multiple things. One drawer was dropped 4 times in front of us. They didn’t even say sorry.
At the end they said, “we good?” My husband said there are multiple scratches and they just repeated, “so we good?” As they were walking away.
Absolutely horrible. No answer at number and mailbox is full.
