I wish I knew the owner's name, because he is an absolute angel. I had the most bewilderingly awful experience with UPS, and this man was the only one who cared enough to resolve it.
I placed an order with Petco that ended up being shipped separately. After never receiving the first item, even though it was marked as 'delivered,' I paid $5.99 to have the second item shipped to a safe UPS Access Point -- this packaging store. I received an email that my delivery was ready for pickup, but when I got there, not only did my package never arrive, but according to the tracking details it a) was received by some woman named 'Nancy' that didn't work there, and b) was addressed to this location, but with a nonexistent suite number added?
I thought I could just call UPS customer service and try to get in contact with the driver to ask where his route was that day and if he remembered this package at all. Oh, how naive. The automated service only offered answers to questions that were already available online and seemed to just exist to prevent you from speaking with a real person. I'm not even going to get into that hours and hours long ordeal.
I decided to file a claim online. The claims for lost packages are not designed for situations where the sender is a corporate vendor, and basically just makes UPS an unnecessary middleman in trying to contact them for a refund. They supposedly try to find the package first, but they declared mine as officially lost.
Well THIS GENTLEMAN really made an embarrassment out of UPS. He simply contacted the driver and asked about my package. What a concept! It turned out another driver delivered it to a random medical building for some reason? So a few days later, this man calls me and tells me he found my package and it was ready to be picked up. That basically proves either UPS never investigated this, or their investigations somehow don't even involve contacting their own drivers ?.
I was just so incredibly touched that someone who had absolutely no responsibility for any of this actually cared enough to help me. I'm so grateful to have all this resolved, and so is my fur baby, Linus! I cannot thank this man enough, and I plan on coming back the next time I have any kind of shipping need!
