DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY! I REPEAT DON’T GO TO THIS COMPANY. My
daughter got a job in Richmond and had to move from St. Augustine, Fl
to Richmond, VA. We had a list of questions to ask for each company
we had listed, and we contacted All Coast Moving Group as one of our
possible selections. Several lessons and experiences of the move.
1. All Coast Moving Group is a broker. It partners with moving
companies across the country to service local and interstate moves.
You really don’t know based on that what contractor they will use to
move your stuff. Lesson #1 learned.
2. My daughter basically had to move a bedroom consisting of a
dresser, bed frame and mattress, 2 nightstands, desk and computer and
15 boxes of clothes and stuff. We were told right away that met the
low square footage “with margin”. The bid was approximately $1800.
3. When the movers Hermes Moving and Storage Company arrived not
only were we oversized but we were were oversized to the tune of
$1000.00. We argued that it could not be true and definitely not to
the tune of the $1000 but that’s when they have you. You put down a
deposit and the only option is to leave stuff behind. Lesson #2: All
Coast Moving Group will low ball their bid, get your money, and then
you’ll be stuck dealing with “changes” along the way.
4. We asked when the delivery would be and we were told October
14. So, my wife and I took that week off to drive up to Richmond to
help our daughter unpack and get settled. We were told several times
by the lady at the Boca Raton office it would be Oct 14 with no
caveats. Well, she lied. The date moved to 17th, then to 26th. Long
after we had to leave to go back to work. We called to discuss why
the date changed and she said if we read the contract, you would know
they have 20 some days to deliver. I said but you said the 14 with no
mention of the nearly month grace period. She said I should have read
the contract. I also shouldn’t have believed what she told me when I
asked her several times. Lesson #3: All Coast Moving Group is
deceptive about when you’ll get your stuff until of course they get
the down payment and then they say “well you should have read
contract”. Translation: We will lie to you continually so better read
the contract-not what we say. The lady at Boca Raton was deceptive in
almost everything she told us and then just said well you should have
read the contract. She is right about that, and she should not be
representing your company.
5. Hermes Moving and Storage Company, which is a contractor they
use, gets terrible ratings. We had him change the arrival date
several times because by his own admittance “he overslept”. He
charged us per 7 steps when we were told by by All Coast Moving Group
the first two floors were free. They sent one mover (not even sure
OSHA would approve one guy moving dresser up flights of stairs) and
again we were surcharged not based on what was told to us by All Coast
Moving Group but by Hermes having their own rules. He broke an
overhead light moving a mattress that should have been lifted by two
people. Total cost of move over $4000. The mover even asked my
daughter to go back in a 50 ft truck and see if she could find her
things. Not! Lesson #4: All Coast Moving Group has subpar
contractors and doesn’t really care who they pick to move your stuff.
They lowball then gouge you all the way to destination. I would not
trust them to move air five feet.
LACK OF COMMUNICATION.I AM STILL WAITING ON A UPDATE FROM SHAWN IS NOW 3 HOURS LATER and NO UPDATE FOR ITEMS THAT WERE PICKED UP AUG 25 and now is SEPT 5 2023 and NOT DELIVERED YET! . WE MADE THE MISTAKE OF ENTRUSTING THIS COMPANY WITH MY 80 YEAR OLD MOTHERS MOVE TO FLORIDA FROM GEORGIA. NOT ONLY DID THEY CHARGE A EXTRA$500 FOR A FEW BOXES AND RIPPED A OLD WOMAN OFF BUT NOW WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR THE ITEMS TO BE DELIVERED .NO CALL OR UPDATE WHATS SO OVER. LOOKING AT THE REVIEWS NOW IT SEEMS THE ONE START RATING IS THE CORRECT ONE AND A REPORT TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BEREAU WILL COME NEXT! UPDATE the pieces are finally meant to be delivered after 20 days which is suppose to be the standard whi h was not communicated. A 8 hour drive took takes over 20 days to move someone to Florida. Lack of communication. Now we received a text from movers with a different name than heritage stating they will make the delivery.
This company owes me 2,000 for a tv that was stolen during transit and they keep saying they’ll pay and never do. Also when they showed up to drop off the guy was on drugs and alone and I had to help him carry everything up.
The company was decent until they had our deposit. Once our deposit was put in the entire process was like having teeth pulled. There was little to no communication from the company leading up to our 1500 mile move up the East coast and unless we reached out I’m not sure they would have communicated anything with us. When we did reach out, the receptionist or clerical worker that took our calls was dismissive and rude. Our items showed up in extremely poor condition (at almost 9 pm when delivery window was 4-7pm) and some items even missing. When the items were delivered they were literally thrown around with no consideration. Also, there were many additional fees we hadn’t planned on either which was an awful surprise to top things off. Overall, a very stressful experience and I would not recommend.
THIS COMPANY SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS. DO NOT USE THEM. If I had spare time to pursue legal action I would.
Easily the worst customer service of any company I have ever worked with. First, the delivery took something like 3 weeks and they couldn't offer an estimated delivery date better than 'sometime between 1 and 28 business days.' When it was delivered, the delivery guys tried to extort me with insane fees. They then lost 4000+ dollars of my stuff and offered 99 dollars to replace it. They also put someone else's baby photos book (obviously irreplaceable) in my boxes then made no effort to get it back to its owners and told me to throw it out.
