I have a 63-year-old Steinway baby grand piano which is highly cherished by my family, and had been passed down to me by my mother. It had been moved several times, and had fallen into general disrepair. Mr. Hockman was highly professional and extremely knowledgeable, and did a thorough assessment of the damage. He proposed several stages of reparation, beginning with the cracked sound board. He explained the entire restoration process, and followed through on every step. He provided a loaner piano while the work was being done, and did an amazing job! The piano both looks and sounds amazing, and I can't wait for my mom to see it! Mr. Hockman clearly loves his work, and does it with excellence!

Hockman recently tuned our piano and everything sounds great! It had not been tuned in over 10 years but he was able to make it sound like new.

I contacted Kevin Hockman to just tune my 1893 Everett upright, which I've had for 56 years. I was stunned afterwards at how dead it had become because the sound was so brilliant and alive. Since I had been talking with my wife about a rebuild, I asked Kevin if he would provide me with some estimates for various stages of rebuilding, which he did. Each estimate listed what would be done along with the cost. I opted for a complete rebuild (no sound board work) because the cost was so very reasonable. He picked up the piano at the time he said he would and returned it about 2 months later, promptly and on time. The difference was incredible. I was playing a 114 year-old piano that sounded like it was brand new. Kevin told me what to expect over the next month and that he would be in touch to arrange to follow-up to fine tune the instrument. He was again, on time, and spent the next several hours tuning it twice (once upon arrival and again as the last step), and making small adjustments to the entire action, including the pedal mechanics. I cannot say how impressed I am with his knowledge and expertise, to say nothing of his easy-going nature and obvious love of what he does. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing similar services.
