Humboldt Moving & Storage

This company provided the worst moving experience I've ever had! They totally scratched up my tv stand from end to end and the glass shelves too. There are gouges in the wood beyond repair. My recliner chair is now sitting lopsided due to a bent frame. A mover forced the back of the chair on creating an extremely loud cracking noise. Their furniture repair man said the recliner was broken beyond repair. A piece of a wooden leg to an antique dresser was broken off with out notice. I found it while unpacking! My kitchen table and computer stand are now so wobbly they can't serve their purpose. I don't think they could make it through an earthquake. My stereo equipment is damaged on the outside and I haven't hooked it up yet due to illness and lack of help so I don't know what condition they are really in yet. They moved my lamp without removing the bulbs and left them broken in the sockets without telling me and then didn't replace them. The cords to my equipment were moved in a tangled mess and one cord to the tv was missing. Still trying to unravel the cords. I found two books in a box totally folded in half and those are the only items their covering for a fair replaceable amount! I have 5 items so far damaged beyond repair. Hopefully the stereo equipment works! I spent $2437.00 to have them do some packing and all the moving. To replace the damaged items in today's market would cost at least $2058.30. Today I received a check for $165.00 to cover damages and they closed my claim!! That wouldn't even replace the kitchen table in todays market and I haven't hooked up the stereo equipment yet. They based their numbers on depreciation of the items. Their repair man told me my furniture was cheap and that's why it's like it is now. Great business tactics!. My stuff may have been 10 years old but it was all in good condition before the move! I take good care of my belongings that's why they last for 10 years! The men who moved my items were nice but they aren't considerate while moving
customers property everything got beat up! I can't afford to replace these items and will have to live with the damaged possessions and feel angry, sad, ripped off, and taken advantage of every time I use or clean my ruined possessions. Beware of this company!

The owner of this company's response to my review is a complete lie! All my property was in good condition before Humboldt Moving and Storage moved it. There were no preexisting conditions!!!

Humboldt Moving & Storage was great. I had a short move from Myrtletown to Mitchell Road. Sam and Jacob were so nice and professional, and I was very impressed with how they made a great effort not to ding walls or my furniture. Seriously, they went way above and beyond the call of duty to take care of both properties and my belongings. I would definitely recommend this company as my experience with flawless.

Humboldt Moving and Storage made my move such a breeze. I had no desire to pack after having moved into my apartment only a year ago. Eric, Steven and Jacob packed all of my belongings and moved them to my new house. As I unpack I see that they took great care to make sure nothing shifted during transfer. My many breakable are all intact and they were able to pack and transport everything in one day. I highly recommend Humboldt Moving and Storage for your local move.

In May 2024 I called HM&S and Jennifer answered. She was very kind and friendly to talk with. She transferred me to Derrick to set up a visit for an estimate of the job I needed to have done. He was the second great representative for this company of the day! He gave me a very prompt estimate date. When I met him at my house, he assured me that two of his men could move my two-story house of furniture and boxes I would pack to the garage and back inside again after my entire house carpet was replaced. He was also so patient with my phone call questions before the move!

When 'moving out' day came, Ben and Keelan arrived to do my job. They were two more very kind and professional representatives of this company.
I was totally impressed at how carefully and expertly they worked, so I requested that they be assigned to move my houseful back in after my carpet was done. Derrick did just that. While Ben and Keelan were moving everything back in two days later, they remembered where almost everything was to be moved, right down to the floor lamps. That was really amazing!

It should sound obvious why I gave a 5-star rating.
For the kindness I was shown by all, and for not so much as a 'ding' in any door frame by Ben and Keelan, I have to say such Great Job-Thank you!
