TLDR: You would be better off renting a Uhaul and either doing the move yourself or hiring other help.
Based on other recommendations I decided to try a different moving company as a recent change cause my family to need to move after 4 months in our previous home. Based on my experience with the other moving company I selected 2 movers and 2 hours as that is what they required to get my items into my former home. HustleandMuscle changed this to four hours and two movers. I had no issue with this change and requested they bring a mattress protector as I didn't acquire one. My appointment was confirmed and then the day of the appointment arrived.
24 minutes after my appointment start time I received a call that there would be a change as the original movers would be unavailable and someone else was filling in. They shared they would arrive in another 30 minutes. When they arrived I noticed they had a 10 foot truck and only one moving dolly. I shared that I was moving a two bedroom apartment 1,400 sq ft apartment to a 3 bed townhouse so I was a little shocked to see such a small truck. I took them upstairs and showed them the areas that had items to move and I also pointed out some antique items that require extra attention for disassembly and moving the team acknowledged that they understood and began moving items. After about 40 minutes I offered to let them use my personal dolly and handtruck as I was shocked they did not have their own. By the time the truck was filled 3 hours had elapsed of the original 4 and not half of the items had been loaded into the truck.
Upon return to my former home I began helping move my heavier furniture as I could tell the job would not be completed otherwise. David mentioned to me that he did not believe my tv would fit in the truck and I appreciated this we were not able to get all the items out of my former home and we arrived at my new home where they team began unloading the truck and placing items in the home. We disagreed about if a sleeper sofa could make it to a place I requested however I agreed didn't want to jeopardize anyone's safety after moving with them all day.
While placing some of the items in my new home I began reassembling some furniture and notice numerous scratches and chips in furniture that is not even 3 months old. I also observed them kicking boxes that fell as they were carrying them, including boxes clearly marked as FRAGILE. Furthermore, one of the gentlemen repeatedly entered a bathroom I had intentionally not provided them access to as there were valuables stored there I intended to move myself. On top of this the antique bookcase that I had previously shown them how to disassemble they began kicking and pushing on it to try to make it fit back together. My wife was telling them to stop and they ignored her. It took me walking over to show them again that they need to place it down at the same time so it would slot in.
When it came time to pay I was charged for 8 hours and inquired if I had cash to pay which I was confused as their website indicates they take credit, debit and cash. After David made a phone call I was told there is a credit card option and I should have received a text or email. I showed David I had received no such communication and he forwarded me the link to which I paid. David then shared that I would be receiving a follow up call regarding the move and that they could schedule when the remaining items would be moved out of the garage.
I never received a follow up call from anyone and had to move the items including the sleeper sofa out of the garage by myself. Moving is already a stressful enough time and people generally hire movers because they cant not move the items by themselves. I was and am extremely disappointed that my items were damaged, the team arrived unprepared to move items and that the follow up phone call was never provided. Again save yourself the stress, sore muscles and damage furniture and seek other movers.
Not worth it - extremely unprofessional company. Wish I hadn't used them!
I'm a sucker for a cleverly-named company... and what's more, these movers fully lived up to their moniker! Nothing but praise for the polite, efficient, and speedy manner with which Rick & co handled our small, local move. Upon arrival, they got right to work-- loaded and unloaded our shambolic assortment of stuff with ease, and didn't even flinch when we presented them with unboxed miscellaneous items that we hadn't had time to better organize prior to our move date. Moreover, when the 2-man team finished up the move in less time than anticipated, Rick kindly agreed, for just a nominal fee, to do a dump run to dispose of our discarded items that didn't make the final cut! Truly above & beyond... and worth every penny in headaches saved! I highly recommend booking 'The Muscle' -- very reasonably priced, and owned/operated by veterans!
