My most valued possession, the 93-year-old Mason & Hamlin baby grand that my parents received as a wedding gift in 1927, and on which I learned to play as a piano student in the 1950s and 1960s, has been beautifully rejuvenated by Illos Piano Restorations of Buffalo, NY, at a cost far below what other estimates had led me to expect. With nearly all of its working parts replaced, and both the case and the hinged wooden bench exquisitely refinished in satin black, the instrument is a joy to hear and behold. Bravo to the technicians at craftworkers at Illos, and to the whole firm for its courtesy and efficiency in shepherding the job to completion during the year of Covid-19.

Joe and his team at Illos are--by far--the best I've ever met at what they do. I've been playing piano since I was three years old, and the quality of their craftsmanship, expertise, work ethic, and honesty are positively unrivaled. They know the differences between a good piano and an excellent piano. I am astounded at their attention to detail, and I applaud them for their excellence. Joe doesn't put any instrument in his showroom that he doesn't know and fully trust the quality of, and it's undeniably evident to an experienced player like myself. In a world of 'okay' used pianos, those for sale at Illos are miles above. (Not to mention the fantastic warranty he offers as well)

When I was in the market for a used piano, Joe never pushed my budget or time. He was patient (for weeks!) and looked out for my interests, not just his own. After comparing to other dealers, it was crystal clear that the best instrument selection and choice for my budget would come from Illos. Joe was honest and agreed to a *very* fair price for the 15-year-old used, Sohmer & Co. 90T Grand that I bought from them. It was delivered in like-new condition, aesthetically and acoustically. The movers were exceptionally careful with every step and had it ready to play in my fourth floor apartment in under 30 minutes. (Using an elevator)

From the first day I walked in the door, to the day I played my new piano in my apartment, I was blown away by their professionalism and care for their customers and instruments. I never knew how much a new piano would change my life for the better, but Illos made that clear: indescribably better.
