International Sea & Air Shipping Customer Reviews

Review:

We used the service of International Sea&Air Shipping for our relocation from Texas, USA to Bulgaria - a 42 foot container. The communication with their sales department and the export coordinator was at a satisfacory level in the beginning. Jeanine, the export coordinator would always respond to emails (not phone calls) in a timely manner, even on weekends. Unfortunately the positives end here. They charged us with a packing fee for the boxes that we packed ourselves although we explained to them that we did not need the packing service. They stated that charge couldn't be removed, whether or not we use the packing help. On the day of loading the container with our vehicles and our boxes their contractors came to our house two hours before the scheduled time for departure of the container. Even though we had already packed everything (it took us many hours), it would have been unthinkable for their loading contractors to complete the packing in two hours, should we have elected to use the service for which they made us pay mandatorily. In addition to the above, the loading personnel did not handle properly the packing list, they completely messed it up, which resulted later in additional hassle at Customs at the destination point overseas. The selected initial route of the shipment was through the port of Houston, Texas. However at some point the export coordinator picked another route - through Savannagh, Georgia. Apparently they found a cheaper shipping line - in this case it was One Ocean Express Network. The total cost was already paid by us to International Sea&Air Shipping. In this way they collected more by paying less to a cheaper shipping line. Later the shipping line proved the very poor quality of its work. The shipment moved according to the schedule, with a well working tracking on the website of the shipping line until il arrived to Pyraeus, Greece. The trouble started there. According to the original schedule the shipment was to spend one day in Pyraeus - just to be reloaded to another vessel/feeder for the final delivery to the port of Burgas in Bulgaria. However it spent two weeks in Piraeus. Towards the end of that period the tracking stopped working, there was no information on the website of One Ocean Network Express. The export coordinator of International Sea&Air Shipping Jeanine did not know what was happening, she stated she was doing her best to get information from the shipping line but no information was obtained. Then on the website of the shipping line the status of the shipment changed to 'Arrived in Istanbul, Turkey, delivered to customer and empty container returned.' This was a very nerve racking and stressful experience as the shipment was to be delivered to Bulgaria, to our home and we had not received anything. Long and worrisome days passed before Jeanine announced that actually the container was again unloaded to Istanbul in a unplanned manner and it was awaiting for another vessel to Burgas in Bulgaria. She stated that she received the information after emailing back and forth with a supervisor from the shipping line. The tracking never got fixed. It would have been extremely simple, logical and it would have been an expression of expected care for the customer if the shipment had been rerouted from Greece to ground transportation on a truck to reach Bulgaria within the span of the two days (once they became aware a huge delay is ahead in the last, so short marine segment of the trip). Instead the shipping line chose to lie and keep us without any information. Apparently One Ocean Network Express decided to give priority to other shipments and leave ours without tracking for weeks in a unplanned stop in Istanbul. Finally we received a notice of arrival and the container was delivered to the port of Burgas in Bulgaria with a 45 days delay. No compensation from International Sea&Air Shipping, neither from the shipping line, no apologies. Of note and for the sake of accuracy - the contents of the container arrived undamaged. Serious reservations about recommending the company.

We've moved quite a few times over the years, but this was the first time we've ever had a move where nothing was damaged! From start to finish, the company made the entire process smooth and stress-free. We especially want to thank Ronnie, who was incredibly helpful throughout. His professionalism, organization, and friendly attitude really stood out.

Even with the added challenge of an international port strike, Ronnie was prompt, reliable, and kept us informed at every step and returned our stuff to us when we needed. The care and attention his team showed in handling and storing our belongings was top-notch, something we haven't always experienced in the past.

If you're looking for a moving company that truly takes the stress out of moving and delivers excellent service, we highly recommend this company and give a special thanks to Ronnie. Thank you!
