Been of great help ..and help make it easier for us
They made moveing a breeze! Everyone involved was knowledgeable and professional and friendly every step of the way!
NEVER NEVER HIRE IVL as a moving company. At every phase, representatives lied to me. And, worst of all, they served as a broker rather than a mover and assigned my job to a much lower rated moving company, American Knights Moving and Storage. Goods were stored by American Knights in Texas for over two months,. This is after I was promised that my goods would be moved to my new location (Delaware) by IVL and stored at an IVL facility in Delaware, providing prompt delivery once I’d moved. It occurred despite being told that IVL did not use subcontractors and was told, “Absolutely not. Only International Van Lines personnel will pack and deliver your materials.” If I’d wanted to hire the inferior moving company I was assigned to, it could have cost less. But I didn’t choose an inferior company (or so I thought). And it was inferior: One bookcase was broken beyond repair, as were numerous glass items. A valuable poster was folded in quarters rather than properly rolled or packed flat. One box was lost altogether. American Knights packers insisted on emptying all dressers. They also repacked many items that I had packed in certain baskets or containers, making it ridiculously time-consuming to get everything organized again. Delivery was by yet another company: Speedy Movers. These unpackers could not read instructions written on every box, nor follow oral directions for placement of the boxes. NEVER TRUST ANYTHING IVL SAYS and NEVER HIRE the company.
My experience with International Van Lines has been horrendous thus far, and the move isn't even complete. I would highly recommend avoiding using this service, given their poor attention to detail, lack of accountability, and terrible customer service. I scheduled a move with them in August when we were considering moving out of state from NYC. I spoke with our salesperson and mentioned we would need to store our belongings, but given the uncertainty of our move, I needed them to be stored locally. She assured me in writing they would be stored locally, and that I simply needed to call when we were ready to move and then they would be transferred to the end destination. She also explained that this was common, as sometimes folks change their mind.
Fast forward, we have stored our things for a few months (paying a few hundred dollars a month), and IVL has transferred our things to a new state without any notification. I contacted them 8 days ago to schedule my move, which was 20 days ahead of time, and got no actionable response. I've spent over 3 hours calling and emailing to try to get a responsible party on the line, only to speak with an 'Upper Manager' who refuses to admit the company made a mistake and is still trying to charge the rate of a long distance move, when we're just going 10 blocks.
I am not sure in what world you wouldn't expect a moving company to tell you that they are moving your things to a different state, and have no ability to give you any visibility onto timing of returning those things. I can imagine that we will have some broken belongings having been transported 1200 miles and loaded/unloaded 4-5 extra times.
I would recommend avoiding this company at all costs, as it is clear they do not care very much about their customer service, and just fly by the seat of their pants.
International van lines moving company makes moving wether its around the state or abroad the four point moving plan takes some of the stress out of moving.Since they don't outsource everything comes straight from them. This is the only company I would recommend for any and all my moving needs..thank you IVL..
